New Products: BRN-180 Uppers With 13.9" & 14.5" Barrels

Our new product sage Paul Levy has something more exciting than usual to show us - Brownells BRN-180® complete upper receiver assemblies with 13.9" and 14.5" barrels. We received a lot of requests from BRN-180 fans for these barrel lengths, and here they are! Unlike the other BRN-180s, these do not come with a muzzle device. That's because they are designed to pair up with specific muzzle devices that keep the total barrel length, including device, to the 16" minimum required by the National Firearms Act (NFA). You can maximize the finished rifle's compactness, maneuverability, and overall handiness without having to register it with the ATF as an SBR (short-barreled rifle). You MUST permanently pin-and-weld the muzzle device to the barrel, so the total length of barrel plus muzzle device is 16".

These uppers have the current BRN-180 Gen 2 operating system, which is contained entirely within the receiver - no buffer tube (receiver extension) or external buffer system needed. This means you can put a folding stock on the rifle and shoot it with the stock FOLDED. The BRN-180 upper fits standard "mil-spec" AR-15 lower receivers and lowers specifically designed for Picatinny-mount folding stocks, such as the one by American Defense Mfg.

What's new is the handguard, gas system, and of course, the barrel. The M-LOK® handguard with full-length M1913 Picatinny rail on top almost completely covers the barrel, with just enough room for your chosen flash suppressor, compensator, or suppressor adapter to clear the front. There's a cutout on top to reach the adjustment lever of the gas block, so you can switch between the settings for suppressed and unsuppressed shooting.
