Brand Spotlight: Introducing Spiritus Systems
It started with two soldiers sitting behind a tent on a mountainside in Afghanistan talking about the limitations of their Army-issue nylon gear. Several years later, those soldiers were out of the Army and starting a company in North Carolina to manufacture the gear they wished they'd had when they were deployed. One of them, Adam Holroyd, talks with Brownells Gun Tech™ Caleb Savant about the guiding principles behind Spiritus Systems products. Spiritus specializes in heavy nylon textile items: plate carriers, chest rigs, magazine carriers, and a huge variety of pouches - just about anything military and law enforcement personnel might need to carry their equipment. "Systems" is in the company name because Spiritus products are MODULAR. You can configure them to carry exactly what you need for a specific mission, then easily reconfigure them for a different mission. Adam and his business partner spent a lot of time modifying Army-issue gear, taking it apart and sewing it back together in better configurations (yes, real men know how to use a sewing machine!). The result is a collection of interchangeable components that are all sold "á la carte." You start by picking the base product, then "build" your rig by adding ONLY the attachments you need. And yes, it's all made in the U.S.A. More good news: Brownells now carries a large portion of the Spiritus Systems product line!
