What is the LEE PRECISION - Spline Drive Breech Lock Bushing 4 Pack?

SPLINE DRIVE BREECH LOCK BUSHINGS

Spline Drive Breech Lock Bushings 4 pack. New, easy grip splined drive surface allows easy, accurate and fast die installation in your press. Reloading dies are confusingly similar looking, so we anodized and colored the bushings so you can “color code” your dies for quick positive identification. No need for lock rings on your dies with these quick-change bushings. Simply lightly tighten the clamp screw, and split collar will put a vise lock on your die. Loosen the screw, and the die will spin freely. Once set you’ll never lose position. They look so good and work so well, you’ll want them for all your dies.

Great product
I really like Lee Poducts and this is just another one to help in my reloading

Love the that one screw feature for tightening.
I know Lee says you don't need these and that they're non Allen screw breech locks work fine but I like the security of knowing that my diet is locked absolutely solidly in place. Plus the price is very little more than the non-lockers. I have used a number of these for various calibers and they have all worked well. Highly recommend you get these and not the non-lockers.

Swap out dies fast.
They save a lot of setup time. Once your die is set where you want it, you simply tighten the set screw and the die never moves. A must for crimp dies. Picture shows obsolete 1800"s flat head set screw but they now have upgraded to Allen head screws.

Eliminates the Lee loaders when used with the hand press
These spline drive breech lock bushings are a brilliant idea from Lee Precision. Of course you need a Lee breech lock press or the breech lock update bushing for whatever single stage press you’re using. Honestly though these breech lock bushings are a much more viable and mobile option compared to the Lee loaders, when used with the Lee hand press. You figure with the loaders you would need some sort of mallet, which is basically heavier and about the same size as the hand press, the loader case which is the size and weight of a 3-4 die set with case. So you’re really not sacrificing any weight or space compared to the loaders. With the Breech lock bushings you basically set it and forget it and with a dummy round or factory round you can do the same as you’d do with the loaders when getting a quick setup. BEST OF ALL….you don’t end up needing a new pair of drawers by having a random primer pop off on you from using a mallet. Breech lock and the hand press are a perfect mobile pair!

Spline drive breech lock bushing
I use these to set up my bullet seating dies only on my Lee single stage loading press. They work great. They make changing dies very quick.
