What is the REDDING - COMPETITION HANDGUN BULLET SEATER DIES?

These seaters have a precision fitting bullet seating stem which is spring loaded. As the bullet and case move up into the seater positive alignment is insured. The micrometer adjustment on the seating stem simplifies setting and recording bullet seating depth. The micrometer is calibrated in .001 inch increments, is infinitely adjustable, and has a zero set feature. This seater has no crimping features. Crimping should be done with a separate Redding Profile Crimp or Taper Crimp die. The Competition seating die for the handgun and straight wall cases is compatible with most progressive reloading presses.

Fantastic die
I was initially skeptical to try this die. I was experiencing 1 in 10 of my 9mm rounds failing the chamber test gauge. I couldn't figure out what was going on. An insightful forum post indicated the problem might be with bullet alignment and recommended trying the Redding competition seater die. Wow. What an amazing difference this die has made for me.

Quality Seater!
I have several of these seaters, both pistol and rifle. They simply get the job done. Once set up, they hold that setting throughout your loading session.

Corrected My Chambering Issues
The first time I used this seater on polymer-coated bullets, I went from 1 cartridge in 10 dropping into the max gauge, to 11 of 12 in spec. Even those slightly out of spec will chamber in my most finicky guns. This die is a keeper.

The best !
I have been using this seating die for decades. Since I am constantly switching between bullet styles ,i.e. SWC and Ball , it is absolutely a non-event to change from one to the other with just a minor adjustment of the seating die. Great product and worth every Dollar!
