The Hornady® SST® (Super Shock Tip) is designed to deliver tremendous shock on impact while expanding quickly and reliably, particularly at higher velocities.

Flat shooting and deadly accurate, it's an ideal bullet for whitetails, as well as most North American game animals from antelope to moose and similar-sized African plains game. The SST® creates a devastatingly large wound channel.


PRODUCT FEATURES

POLYMER TIP
Upon impact, the hard polymer tip drives into the lead core like a wedge, initiating lightning-fast, yet controlled expansion.

SECANT OGIVE, BOATTAIL PROFILE
Incorporating the pioneering Hornady secant ogive design, the tapered point, increased bearing surface and more aerodynamic profile, combined with a boattail base, makes the SST® more efficient with less drag and greater stability.

CANNELURE
A mid-body cannelure helps keep the core and jacket together while providing a consistent, accurate crimp during the loading process.

INTERLOCK® RING
This Hornady exclusive design mechanically locks the core and jacket together to maintain bullet integrity during expansion, ensuring maximum weight retention and increasing the chances of complete pass-throughs.

Amazing bullets
I purchased these to throw out of my 7mm Magnum rifle. It's shooting out of 22" bbl, Savage 110 factory rifle, factory stock, off of a bipod. Shooting these at 200 yards, I can keep them in a 1" pattern with no problem. I have yet to use them on game, but if they are anything like the .264 and .308 SST's, it will drop a deer without issues. I love the SST bullets as they are tough and accurate, best part is they won't break the bank! I am hoping they work just as well in my 7mm Mauser, so we will see.

Used in a 7mm08
I purchased these for my Remington 700 sps in 7mm08. I shot a 140lb doe at 400yrd!!! Deer went 30 yrds and dropped dead. Pentatration was deep, plus it didnt waste an of the meat. Will buy these for all my future handloads.
