What is the BARNES BULLETS - TIPPED TSX® 25 CAL (.257") BOAT TAIL RIFLE BULLETS?
BARNES BULLETS TIPPED TSX® 25 CALIBER (0.257") BOAT TAIL RIFLE BULLETS

With all of the benefits of the TSX, these bullets have a polymer tip that boosts B.C. and initiates expansion. The re-engineered nose cavity provides faster expansion and devastating terminal performance.

Barnes’ TSX Bullet offers all the deadly effectiveness of the time-proven X Bullet. Features include all-copper construction, no fragmentation, rapid expansion, 28% deeper penetration than lead-core bullets, and maximum weight retention. The TSX has proven to be one of the most accurate hunting bullets available–a fact countless shooters have confirmed.

An exclusive feature of the TSX Bullet is multiple, precisely engineered rings cut into the bullet shank. These grooved rings act as relief valves as bullet metal flows under pressure while traveling down the bore. Instead of flowing from the front to the base of the bullet, the copper material expands into the grooves. This results in reduced pressures and less copper fouling. Reduced pressures mean the bullet can be safely loaded to higher velocities. The rings also alter barrel harmonics, greatly improving accuracy.

Pronghorn Lightning
I’d previously used the Barnes TSX in my 6.5 rifles. I loaded the 80 gr TTSX in my 257 Robert’s P+ loads with 54 gr Superformance. Powder. Very accurate in my Model 70 Featherweight. 3610 fps. First pronghorn buck was 318 yards on Rangefinder , went down 4 seconds after the heart/ lung hit. Subsequent use confirms initial results. The Barnes TTSX punches above it’s weight!

Good Bullet in Lead Free Areas
When California went to lead free bullets, I had to scramble to find a suitable bullet for my .257 Roberts Ackley Improved rifle. Barnes TTSX 80 grain bullet was the only thing available. I worked up a load with H 380 powder that resulted in 10 shot groups that hovered around .5 MOA at 100 yards. This load devastated ground squirrels, completely contrary to expectations. Next I built a modified Remington 783 using a custom .25-06 drop-in barrel and tricked out Boyd Stock, with very satisfactory results. I wouldn't hesitate to use this bullet for deer or similar sized game. The best accuracy came when the bullet was seated 0.050" off the lands in both rifles. The only down side to the TTSX is cost for varmint hunting, but no one makes a lead free Varmint Grenade type bullet in .257 caliber. Considering the overall cost of a hunt, these bullets are a good way of insuring success, with .257 caliber rifles.

35 Whelen Magic
This is an idea bullet for the .35 Whelen cartridge. It has unparalled performance against any thin skinned animals. It's bullet weight retention is almost 100%. For "primitive weapons" hunting in the deep South there is no better bullet when properly loaded.

Great performance
Bullet has great knock down power. Expands great and goes where you aim. Have used in all our rifles and use nothing else when reloading.
