Sometimes hard to find brass. Makes for some mild loads in a .38 special.

No complaints at all here. Loaded with 4 grains of Universal, it handles 105 grain SWC or 115 grain PHP's easily, with no undue results. The 105's average 1050 FPS, and the 115,s seem to have a nice hitting power. Shaves a few ounces off my 38 Falcon and Navies [2]. A Much underappreciated case, modern brass has a better pressure tolerance than the old stuff and nobody seems to have updated the load charts, as the 38 Special pretty much replaced it. I have fired 4 grain loads with the 105 with no problems. No primer damage or signs of case splitting to be seen.

A really good light weight alternative to other 38 revolver loads. These are particularly good with Universal powder. A 4 grain charge and a 105 grain semi wadcutter cranks out a 1050 FPS average speed on less charge than a Long Colt or Specail, making it more cost effective per load. Smaller low recoil cartridges like this can make a decent personal carry load for small compact carry revolvers in the 38 special family.
