I got this Lyman case prep kit awhile back on sale, and man it is a handy kit to have lying on the bench, ESPECIALLY if you dont have one of those OVERPRICED motorized case prep stations, that are going to eventually burn out. All the tools in the kit work great and all the bits are removable with 8-32 threads. So you can use the bits in your motorized case prep station, if you wanna go that route. Or you can use the handles for all kinds of other bits with 8-32 threads. I take the Lee Threaded Large cutter and use them in the handles sometimes. You need a 8-32 lock but for the Lee threaded cutter, because Lees cutter is threaded all way through, and the little 8-32 nipple that comes with it will try and thread right down into the handle. But back to the Lyman kit. The inside and outside chamfer tools work great(although only up to 45 calibers, you may be able to do 50 caliber, havent tried yet so 45 cal at least.) and hold an edge. The primer pocket cleaners are primer pocket cleaners, THEY WORK, the primer pocket reamers work good too, I use them on crimped brass , the primer pocket Uniformers are pretty sharp also and do a really good job, they just dont include a large pistol uniformer( but I suppose if youre carful you can make due with the large rifle Uniformer. So all in all this is the way to go if youre getting case prep tools, you save some cash buying this kit over buying them all separately. And heck if theyre on sale get two, so youll have back ups if and when something starts to get dull, you lose a piece, or just to have extra handles lying around.
