The Brownells BRN-180M Stripped Lower Receiver is purpose-built for BRN-180 upper receivers, combining an integrated M1913 Picatinny folding-stock interface, ambidextrous controls, and compatibility with standard mil-spec AR-15 lower receiver components.
Precision-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum billet with a durable black hardcoat anodized finish, the BRN-180M takes full advantage of the BRN-180 platform's self-contained recoil system. The result is a streamlined receiver designed specifically for bufferless, folding-stock configurations without sacrificing the familiarity of standard AR-15 lower components.
Integrated M1913 Picatinny Folding-Stock Interface
Unlike a conventional AR-15, the BRN-180 uses a self-contained recoil system housed entirely within the upper receiver. Because the action does not require a buffer tube extending behind the lower, there is no need for traditional receiver extension hardware.
The BRN-180M takes advantage of this design by replacing conventional buffer tube threads with an integral M1913 Picatinny rail machined directly into the rear of the receiver. This provides a clean, rigid mounting interface for compatible folding stocks without requiring a separate Picatinny adapter.
Ambidextrous Bolt & Magazine Releases
The BRN-180M features ambidextrous bolt and magazine releases, allowing these controls to be operated from either side of the receiver. The proprietary ambidextrous bolt-release and magazine-release lever hardware is included.
The ambidextrous magazine-release lever is designed to work in conjunction with a standard mil-spec magazine catch, retaining compatibility with familiar AR-15 components.
Precision-Machined 7075-T6 Billet Construction
Machined from 7075-T6 aluminum billet, the BRN-180M features a durable hardcoat anodized finish and several integrated features designed to simplify the receiver configuration.
An oversized integral trigger guard eliminates the need for a separate trigger guard. Additional features include a threaded bolt-catch pin, captive set screw for the takedown-pin detent spring, and a receiver tensioning screw for the upper receiver takedown lug.

Compatibility & Included Components
Upper Receiver Compatibility: The BRN-180M is specifically designed for BRN-180 upper receivers, including compatible SCNR models. Due to its proprietary design, it is not compatible with standard AR-15 upper receivers.
Lower Parts Compatibility: The receiver is designed to accept standard mil-spec AR-15 lower components, including triggers and conventional fire-control parts. The primary exception is traditional buffer tube and receiver extension hardware, which is replaced by the integrated M1913 stock interface.
Included Hardware: The stripped receiver includes proprietary ambidextrous bolt-release and magazine-release lever hardware, along with the specified receiver-specific pins and screws.
Please Note: This is a stripped lower receiver, not a complete lower assembly. Trigger group, remaining lower parts, and stock are sold separately. The receiver requires transfer through a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder.
