Checker face for emergency slide action
The new Vortex Defender pistol optic, includes checkering on front surfaces to enable user to complete injured officer drills which require user to reload/chamber pistol one handed by pressing sights/optics into an object in order to cycle slide. This is basic combat training skill set for most LE.

Great little dot
Easy to install. Simple instructions and great wide window view for such a small rds. Can’t find any refresh issues or anything. Love the included picatinny rail. Thoughtful design and packaging was very economical. On a metal M&P with a type 2 plate you can barely see the front sight as you line up the sights. Still usable but this is meant for sub guns with the Shield RMS footprint. Really love this dot! The meat tenderizer is much smaller in person. Hardly noticeable in hand. So many included screws and shim with easy labeling makes for an easy project. Thank you Vortex!
