Front Sight Could be better

The front sight needs to have the under-lug larger to match the factory sight & opening in the slide. It requires a depth micrometer & some patience to get it properly aligned instead of just dropping it in & installing the screw.

Trijicon HD XR Yellow for my Glock 26

I bought the Trijicon front/rear night sight set for a GLOCK 26 that I purchased back in 2000. Shortly after I purchased the pistol I installed Meprolight "True Dot" night sights in late 2001 and after 17 years they became to dim to be useful. Decided to replace with the Trijicon's. Cons: The front sight was not a snug fit and even perfectly aligned there was a slight amount of daylight along the longitudinal sides of the front sight base and slide sight mount opening. The sight did sit flush on top of the slide though. The gap probably wasn't more than about .002" but disappointing that the tolerances weren't better. Some may argue that it is the slide that may be out of spec but the Meprolight and OEM front sight did not have either of these problems. I filled the slight gap between the sides of the sight base and slide front sight mount opening with black RTV. The second issue is that because there is no fluorescent (glow in the dark) painted rings on the rear sights they were a little hard for these 61 year old eyes to pick up. This may not be an issue for others. Pros: Rear sight was a nice snug fit. Front sight with the yellow fluorescent painted ring was vey easy to pick up and very bright. Will be keeping the sights for now but plan to replace.
