Each Pistol Rack is made from steel and coated with a protective PVC finish that doesn't mar or scratch the finish on your guns. Each slot in the rack is sized to hold compacts, full-size guns, revolvers, semi-autos, single-shots and more. Guns can be stored right-side up or upside down. Hornady Pistol Racks are available in four- or eight-gun configurations and feature a black finish.

The height is different on the 4 gun rack. It sits taller.

So, I initially bought the 8-Gun Rack to give this storage system a try, and then I bought the 4-gun rack. Thinking this would give me room for 12 handguns, and it does. I liked the 8 gun rack and gave it 5 stars. What's odd is that the 4-gun rack is about 1/2" taller than the 8-gun rack. I'll probably buy another 8-gun rack and get rid of the four (4) gun rack. Perhaps that seems silly, but it just looks weird and distracts me whenever I visit my gear. First World Problems! 😂
