Does the job
While it may be cumbersome to put on the screen, then attach it to a rod to pull through, this plug really gets the job done. After numerous cleaning attempts, a shot of Kroil followed by several passes got the stubborn lead deposits out.

Cleaning took FOREVER before this!
I've been shooting a lot of factory load slugs lately, and, oh boy, this this makes de-leading the barrel so much more time efficient! A little elbow grease and a dozen or more passes and I strip great huge flakes of lead out. What took hours now takes.. an hour. I'm loving this little thing, so glad I found it!

Get the lead out
I have been using this product for 30+ years and this is my favorite one to get the lead out. I have the pistol kit in several calibers also. This product will save you time and will out preform any combination of brush and solvent. Just adjust for a tight fit pull it through the bore knock the lead off do it again until no lead is present than follow up with J&B bore cleaning and you will have a bore cleaner than new.

Best lead removing system I've ever used
I've tried scrubbing with chemicals, steel wool, toothbrushes, and even picked away at lead left behind with dental picks and other harmful instruments. This lead removing system gets all the lead out on the first pull through the bore 98% of the time and gets anything that's left over on the second pull through the bore. Much easier, less costly, and safer than my old ways. Get one....Use it....and get back to shooting your cast bullets. Spend more time shooting, less time cleaning!

Not a better tool made for Muzzleloaders
I first used the Lewis Lead Remover back in the early 80's on my competition revolvers after shooting lead bullets. I now own a company that teaches others how to improve the accuracy of their muzzleloading rifles. I was surprized to see that it came in a size that fit a .50 cal rifle. It is truly the very best tool available to remove the heavy crud to include sabot plastic from modern muzzloading rifles. It worked just as I expected. In todays new muzzleloaders, clean is one of major factors that leads to the level of accuracy that we pass onto our customers. This tool has some age on it, as do I, but it is still the best game in town for removing crud from a dirty barrel. The Lewis Lead Remover is now recommended to all of our customers as the best option for removing EVERYTHING from their barrel but the rifling. Thanks for keeping this old tool around.
