Out of Spec, fixed by Clymer

Added another Clymer gauge set to my tools, the 6ARC for an AR build. In testing my build, the bolt would not close on the Go (or No Go). And they were not just a little out - my bolt carrier stuck out past the receiver by almost an inch. Both the Go and No Go were the same. Figured I had an out of spec chamber and contacted barrel manufacturer. Returned the barrel, bolt and also the gauges at their request and in 24 hrs got a reply it was not the chamber, but the gauges were not to spec. Contacted Clymer and they requested the gauges be returned. With 24 hours I got an email with "We figured it out. Body diameter up by shoulder out of spec on our end. It is measuring .4310.it needs to be under .430 so that it does not interfere in chamber walls. It most likely was doing just that". They turned the gauges to proper specs and sent them back. As barrel maker said, passed with flying colors and I'm now starting load development. Would be one star, as who would expect precision gauges to be out of spec, but upped it to three star as they were very quick to fix and apologetic. Good customer service will keep me buying.

Still had to remove ejector

I bought this set because the gauges have relief cuts that are supposed to clear the ejector on an AR15 bolt. This was a huge selling point for me, as removing and replacing the ejector can be a pain. The relief cuts are there, however they don't clear the ejector on multiple AR15 bolts I've checked them with. As gauges they work as intended. But those ejector relief cuts are disappointing and it just didn't work out. Perhaps there's an out of spec batch? I will work with Brownells customer service to get this figured out.
