Not Colt
I was excited to receive my Colt upper receiver from Brownells today but was very disappointed when it arrived. The upper receiver was not a Colt! No Colt markings were present, neither “C” nor “13629” cage code. I would have been happy with either one. I’m disappointed that Brownells misrepresented this product as a Colt. Now I have to spend the time to ship it back and look for another Colt upper receiver. I should have read the reviews from others who did not receive a Colt upper receiver first before purchasing. This is the first time I have ever experienced a problem with Brownells in the many years of being a customer.

Damaged upon arrival
I was excited at first because I could see thru the package that it had the M4 marking where it was supposed to be, it also had the square and cage code as well. But to my dismay the upper had numerous damages, ones that were so bad you could feel them (meaning it was not just the finish). Whoever installed the forward assist damaged the underside when the pin was installed, and it looks as if it was thrown down upon some hard surface. This is it for me, I have tried several Colt products lately and they have all had some type of damage and I will no longer be buying their products. Very unfortunate, Colt use to be a premier product.

Not A Verifiable Colt Upper
No markings at all, I was not shipped a verifiable Colt product! This is a generic $50-75 'Keyhole' (Cerro Forge) upper with a brownells label claiming it to be Colt. I understand Brownells can not control which colt markings you get on a upper. C + Keyhole with front M4 or Cage Code + Square with front M4 markings. However I did expect one or the other. Having ordered from Brownells a number of times over the years with success, I am disappointed with this purchase! I'll keep it only because Colt uppers are still showing out of stock at the time of writing this review. However, I would like a partial refund to reflect the difference in price from a generic unmarked upper and a properly marked verifiable Colt product. The upper sent to me had no markings at all. No C, No Cage Code, No M4 above the gas tube hole, nothing. See Photos.

So sad
I bought 2 colt upper. I wished they were c stamped like the picture but they are cage code. But the biggest let down was the finish. Poor quality finish. Scratched and white paint from the the t marks all over the place. Colt had let me down. I still love brownells. But disappointed they would sell me trash at a premium price.
