M16 5.56 BOLT CARRIER GROUP Reviews & Ratings

Complete, mil-spec assembly with bolt, bolt carrier, and firing pin ready to drop into the rifle or carbine upper of your choice. Each bolt assembly is high pressure tested and magnetic particle inspection tested to ensure it’s free from imperfections that can lead to premature failures. Properly staked gas key prevents gas leakage that can lead to short stroking. M16-style carrier on the black phosphate model has full-length shroud for tripping auto sear, so this carrier may be installed on full-auto law enforcement and military rifles. Carrier and gas key are chrome lined for smooth cycling and resistance to wear from hot combustion gases for years of dependable service.

1
Loose gas key
Gas key wasn't properly torqued. Staking looked good, but bolts were loose. Had to remove replace bolts and restake. Colt quality control should have cought this.

Out of Spec
So out of spec it would not insert in any of the uppers I have. Would bind was as the gas key broke the plane into the upper. For the non believers the cam pin was aligned upright and none of my other BCGs had this issue. Sent back to Brownells and refunded.

Damaged in the wrapper
I have sourced these bolt carrier groups from other vendors with good results, but this latest one I ordered from Brownells was damaged while still in the factory wrapper. Upon inspecting my brand new bcg, I found a huge burr at the end of the gas key. The shipping envelope was not damaged, so I can only assume that Colts QC slipped up with this one. Sent this one back for a refund.
