GL ENHANCED MAGAZINE WELLS FOR GLOCK® 19 GEN 3

GL ENHANCED MAGAZINE WELLS FOR GLOCK® 19 GEN 3 Reviews & Ratings

The Magpul GL Enhanced Magazine Well for GLOCK 19 GEN 3 is a high performance, purpose-built GLOCK frame magazine well. It was designed to enhance and ensure positive magazine insertion in high stress scenarios. Its sleek and ergonomic design features also provide excellent concealment and ensure minimal printing to the user's clothing. Ramp and edge geometry allow for the smooth removal of faulty or stuck magazines during reloading or immediate action events.

The Magpul GL Enhanced Magazine Well is optimized for use with standard capacity GLOCK factory magazines, Magpul GL9® PMAGs®, and a variety of aftermarket floorplates and extensions that are available for both. Recent generations of reduced capacity (10 rd) factory GLOCK magazines have several dimensional differences which may interfere with any magazine well, including the Magpul GL Enhanced Magazine Well. Some large aftermarket floorplates may also interfere.

Due to inherent variances in GLOCK frame production, if an excessively tight fit is experienced during the installation of an Enhanced Magazine Well that requires excessive force it is recommended that a professional gunsmith complete the installation to mitigate the potential for frame damage.

Does not do much nor very well
The good: The price, material, instalation. The bad: It's sort of small and does not open up the magwell much. It is not very compatable with the Mec Gar Metal 18-round mags (works but you have to slam it in). The worst part to me is that its not sloped or angled well at all--it can hang up on a groove inside the outer lip so mag insertion can easily be slowed down/less than smooth. Its on my Gen 4 Glock 22/17 and I have no plan to ever conceal it so a smaller magwell/funnel is not needed. It does not stand out in a negative way like some larger magwells might, but it does so little I will likely replace it with something that is more functional. If it has a smooth slope/ramp going into the magwell then the small size would not be such a factor. I may look at grinding/sanding the inside of it to take away some the the groove (which is what snags my mags). The groove inside the magwell is the only real downfall of this product and I don't recomend it.

works but
Works but it does not work with Glock 10 round mags. I tried it with larger mags with no problem, but most of my mags are 10 rounds so that is a bummer.

Cannot Recommend This
I just can't recommend this product. For me, I had to sharply slap the magazine into my G23gen3 for it to lock in. Without the magwell, I was able to just firmly push the mag in for it to lock in. This is with either fully-loaded mags or empty mags, btw. I did try sanding a mag basepad to hopefully get my mag lock in as it used to but after a couple hundred swipes with sandpaper and file, the mag still wouldn't lock in as easily as I'd like it to. Today, after carrying my G23gen3 for a week or two, I took the Magpul mag well off for good. I do have other brands of magwells on other Glocks and don't have this problem. I just didn't have a magwell for this size and generation of Glock. I've generally liked all of my other Magpul products, but this is an exception in a negative direction.

Some fitting required
Did not fit when trying to install on Glock 19 Gen 3 RTF2. Backside of magwell has excessive material that prevents from seating properly on pistol grip and installing screw. Will need to shave off material for proper fitment. Price was cheap, so I'm not too disappointed.
