The HS407C X2 is an open reflex optical sight designed for full-sized pistol applications. The HS407C X2 improves on previous versions by adding Lock Mode which was first introduced in our 2018 LEM pistol optic models. Lock Mode, when activated, locks the buttons preventing inadvertent setting changes.

Additional features include Holosun’s Red Super LED with up to 50k hour battery life, Solar Failsafe, precision 2MOA dot, and Shake Awake. The durable housing is made from 7075 Aluminum, uses an industry standard footprint, and houses the 1632 battery in a side-mounted tray for easy replacement when needed.

Solar Failsafe™

Solar Failsafe Technology is one of many innovations featured on solar-equipped Holosun optics. With Solar Failsafe, if your battery fails you always have a backup power source when natural or artificial light is available. Solar Failsafe is activated while in Auto Mode where reticle intensity is automatically adjusted based on the amount of light the solar cell receives. In brighter conditions you have a brighter reticle and in lower-light conditions the reticle will step down in intensity to match any lighting conditions. On models equipped with a super capacitor, it is possible to run the optic, indefinitely, in daytime and night conditions, by maintaining a charge through the Solar Failsafe System all without a battery.

Shake Awake™

Shake Awake Technology is a standard feature on all current model Holosun optics and serves to extend battery life by deactivating the optic’s LED while not in use. A highly sensitive motion sensor works to detect motion keeping the LED powered on during use. This allows for duty or concealed carry with seamless operation throughout your day or shift. At the end of your day or shift when your firearm is stored, the motion sensor will detect a motionlessness state and after 10 minutes (default setting) Shake Awake Technology powers the LED off until motion is again detected. Shake Awake offers settings from 10 minutes to 12 hours depending on the model and can be deactivated altogether if preferred. The slightest touch of the optic instantly reactivates the LED so your Holosun optic is ready when needed.

Super LED

Holosun Super LED technology includes Red, Green, and our latest Gold Dot LEDs providing options that match various environments and personal preferences including red/green color blindness with our Gold Dot. Super LED technology provides a versatile range of reticle intensity settings from night vision-compatible to daylight bright. Holosun Super LEDs have ultra-efficient power usage creating battery like as high as 50,000 hours on certain models. Our Super Green LED is designed to match the wavelength of light that the human eye is most reactive to.

Multilayer Reflective Glass

Holosun’s use of Grade 5 Titanium in certain Elite category optics and laser devices results in unparalleled strength and durability. Holosun Grade 5 Titanium has more than double the tensile strength and has five-times the fatigue strength of 7075 Aluminum. Grade 5 Titanium is also able to withstand the corrosiveness of seawater making Holosun Titanium model optics and lasers suitable for use in maritime environments.

nice red dot optic —

Despite a difficult time installing this on my S&W 10mm Performance Center weapon (as your tech team did not have all the information on “mounting plates,”) the shake on/off function and precision small MOA red dot do well.

Nice sight for the price

This is a nice sight for the price. I broke it in shooting 100 rounds, kept zero and did not have any issues. Side battery access is nice. Solor panels seems silly.

Great sight…..holding up to 44 magnum

I give this thing 4 stars overall. Specs are clearly 5 stars. Long battery life. Removable battery tray. High water/dust resistance. Nice size. Auto adjust brightness. Good dot size. This is a nice sight. Just leave it on. The battery will last a long time. The only star reduction comes from the auto brightness processing. It can blink almost due to varying lighting conditions or something! It seems like it is switching through brightness settings rapidly due to borderline lighting.

Nice optic mostly

I opted for the green dot version which for the only $15 difference is a no brainer as the green is much easier to see than the red especially if you have vision issues and daytime use as the red dot gets washed out in the bright sun that the green dot doesnt. Has the nice lock out feature for us that carries our guns that makes it so accidental button presses by a holster for example wont change settings or worse turn it off. And the shake awake mode is hands down the best feature since in a self defense situation nobody is going to wait for your to turn your optic on! But the two negatives Ive noticed are my dot when its adjusted brighter gets a little globby looking which isnt good and I dont like and isnt like that with the gen 1 MRS 507c series. Also the lens is put in like all the others are that Holosun makes with some sort of glue or epoxy and with this optic I just received has quite a bit of excess glue on one side of the entire frame its mounted in. And I just remembered I also like the battery tray feature so the optic doesnt need removed to replace the battery, but in actuality its a huge negative since the battery tray adds quite a bit of width which is no good for people like me that carry concealed. Its one screw to remove the battery tray and just two for the previous generation and this 2nd version to simply remove the entire optic so for the added width Id rather take the optic off and replace the battery especially when I read about leaking issues if the battery tray screw is not tightened enough or too much which the first gen didnt have any worries of basically ruining the optic if you under or over tighten the battery tray screw since it was simply placed on the bottom side of the optic in which case the entire optic always stayed fully waterproof. Good optic Id recommend with serious cautions told first to a friend before they would buy. I prefer the gen 1 MRS optic that has the same price point as this one with just the one green dot instead of all three with the first generation. Ill be sticking with this 407 series with all future buys since I never used the other reticle options in the MRS version and dont think just for the added two reticle the extra money is worth it. Overall, pretty good optic that Ill keep buying for future guns.
