AR-15/M16 GEN3-M FOLDING STOCK ADAPTER

AR-15/M16 GEN3-M FOLDING STOCK ADAPTER Reviews & Ratings

Law Tactical's steel adapter enables installation of a folding stock on any AR-15 to create a smaller-profile rifle for easy deployment from a vehicle or transport in non-permissive environments. Works with standard gas impingement OR gas piston system. Accepts A2, mil-spec M4-style, and commercial carbine receiver extension tube and almost any stock that fits them. Compatible with all standard bolt carrier groups, including full-auto and .308 size. Single-button operation for quick folding and unfolding and steel locking latch keeps stock securely in place when extended. Gen3-M has a lowered hinge to avoid interference when charging the weapon, and a setscrew keeps the adapter securely affixed to the receiver. Hinge tension is adjustable so you can choose how stiff the folding mechanism is. Includes special bolt carrier extension (no tools to install/remove). Current version utilizes standard buffer retaining pin and spring. Stock adapters feature a DLC coating, except for the Olive Drab Green which has a Cerakote finish.

Causes failure to feed
This LT folding stock adapter comes with a plunger that fits into the end of your bolt. This plunger is necessary for proper operation, however it adds considerable weight to your bolt. The extra weight will cause a failure to feed. I solved this problem by purchasing another bolt which was milled to be lighter. You could also buy a lighter buffer I would assume. Just know that with this adapter, you're adding weight to your bolt and you'll need to compensate for it somehow or you're going to be very disappointed.
Would you recommend this? Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Law tactical folder
I like the product, but quality control is very lacking. I had to modify 2 of them. Could not mount them

Extra step
Does what I want. However, instructions first line should say remove Flange Set Screw (7). If not, it will mar up your Threaded Flange. Read the directions then performed the step and didnt notice until assembly didnt fit. Instructions or the video didnt address this potential issue.

Not Really Useful
So I bought this a while ago to use for a pistol build. It's great for folding up into a compact package for travel, but that's it. It's heavy and bulky, and if you're not careful with how you use the charging handle, you can rip off a finger nail. One thing I did not consider until after use was how there isn't a complete seal for the gas in comparison to a traditional tube. The opening in the latch is not air-tight, allowing hot gas to go into your face after each shot. I would not recommend this unless you really need to have a way to fold your pistol/SBR build.

Not compatible with Magpul UBR
If you have Magpul UBR stock, it does not completely fold.
