AR-15 GAS BLOCK ALIGNER

AR-15 GAS BLOCK ALIGNER Reviews & Ratings

Plastic segmented rods fit into AR-15 gas ports and help you find correct alignment between barrel and gas block. Rods come in 6-paks, and in different lengths and diameters to fit the different gas port specs used by various manufacturers. Segmented construction lets you break the rod off with standard cleaning rod, and high-visibility orange color makes it easy to verify both portions are out of the gas system and barrel. Available in .22 Cal for .223/5.56 and .30 Cal for all calibers from .223/5.56 up to .30 caliber. Includes instructions.

Guessing
After inserting the correct size, I was unable to determine whether the gas block was properly located. Pushed the first section out with a cleaning rod, but the second would not come out. Disassembled it again to remove the second section. Ended up not using this tool. Not worth the money.

Not really a good idea imo
I tried one set. I felt I could be more precise with a pencil marking center lines.

Great in theory, not so much in practice
I was so excited about this product after seeing the video demonstration, but when I tried it out I experienced much different results. Even using the smallest of the included inserts it got stuck inside my barrel, and it was a huge pain getting it out.

Arrived broken
Had high hopes for this but it came in a padded envelope and the tabs were broken

Well that was a waste
The smallest size was tight ish in the gas hole, it snapped in half with the slightest pressure making it useless! Over $10 for cheap flimsy plastic bits that break just trying to insert. Complete waste of money. Will have to see what return policy is now.

Didn't work for me
I like the idea behind this product, but after my experience trying to use it to install a gas block on an AR-10 barrel I cannot recommend it. I followed the instructions and selected the plastic pin that best fit the gas port, and the pin did allow me to properly align the gas block. The problem was the plastic pin became stuck up inside the gas block, barely protruding into the barrel. I tried wiggling the gas block but the pin would not drop down far enough to let me remove it with a cleaning rod as per the instructions. Ultimately I had to pull the gas block off, breaking the pin in the process. I tried to use the next size down, but there was so much play with the smaller pin that I might as well have been trying to eyeball the gas block alignment. I really wanted to like this product, and maybe others have had better results with it, but it just did not work for me.

Great idea, didnt work
I followed the instructions provided in the video provided by brownells. It seemed like a great idea and I was aligning a fbs I thought it would work great. I found the correct pin which was the smallest, put it in the barrel, slipped the fbs over , flipped the assembly over and it worked. Got it aligned, but then when I tried to remove it the pin wouldnt drop back down! I loosened the fbs thinking it was jammed against the wall, nothing! No matter what I sit I would the pin would not drop! I eventually had to pull the fbs off the barrel breaking the plastic pin. Very upset I paid almost $10 for a one use piece of plastic that didnt even work! Maybe I did something wrong but I am not happy with this product!

Didn't work.
Colt M4 LE6920. Even after cleaning out the carbon in the port, the smallest size alignment tool would not go in the port. Worthless. Good idea, poor execution.
