Need Quality control, recommend read
Black overspray on inside of receiver. Also nickel boron inside doesn't even look like its nickel boron, like on a bcg. After shooting and cleaning it is pretty smooth now that all surfaces have mated and rubbed any exterior coating off the inside where it matters. Overall I would still recommend.
Overspray
I like upper only issue issue is with the overspray all on inside where nix coating is. Kinda of defeats the purpose. Hopefully after a few range outings it will rub off where it makes contact with the bcg.

I saw the complete NB upper years ago, I wanted to buy this for years, building a piston upper with a roller cam pin, kind of want to experiment with this upper because of the NB coating on the inside, only to finally get mine... to have over spray almost completely cover the NB on the inside, will it work, yeah. Am I disappointed yeah, I'm going to try to find something to polish it out no big deal. I would buy the complete NB upper if your interested in this brand
Poor quality
Pictures are of the upper with installed ejection port door and forward assist I installed that do not come with the stripped upper. Poor machining marks and poor and thin coating as well as the exterior finish is uneven and looks like a spray can was used. And no those arent shadows you see. As you can see, the nib-x coating is not really there and instead looks like a sprayed on Teflon coating. I was overall disappointed at the quality and regret my purchase
Meh. Usable, but not a good value.
1 of these looked ok, but had machining marks in the receiver. 1 of these looked like a blem and had some curious marks here/there in the receiver that they had tried to finish over. If these weren't so tough to get these days I would send them back. I tried out a set of JP Enterprises pins and they seem to fit, so these 2 won't be having that issue.
Not as smooth as glass like their BCG's
I fully expected the finish to be much stronger. I used a wheeler lapping tool to true up the face of the receiver where the barrel mates. I didn't get the lapping compound inside the receiver and I used oil. The tool did have two or three very small knicks on the surface of the beveled edges of the pilot that I found afterwards, but I honestly thought the nickel boron would've been much stronger. It appears that the tool wore down to the aluminum and left rings in the receiver. I'll never purchase another wheeler tool in my life. The brownells lapping tool was out of stock. That said I would probably purchase another receiver as they're the only company to make colored receivers. I feel that I shouldn't have to lap a brand new receiver to begin with, but i'm not surprised that it wasn't flat. I checked it with prussian blue before hand.
