MOE+® GRIP FOR AR15/M4

MOE+® GRIP FOR AR15/M4 Reviews & Ratings

The MOE+ Grip combines reinforced polymer body construction with comfortable, wrap-around rubber overmolding for maximum weapon control in adverse environments.

With a similar shape to a 'medium' sized MIAD, this AR15 / M4 drop-in design features a hard-polymer bottom edge to reduce the possibility of equipment snags or grip damage. The MOE+ Grip accepts optional Storage Cores for gear stowage and includes a basic grip cap.

FEATURES
  • All mounting hardware included.
  • Rubber overmold on reinforced polymer construction
  • Hard polymer bottom edge prevents snags and grip damage
  • Storage core capability accepts optional cores
  • Beavertail backstrap for enhanced ergonomics
  • Made in the USA.

SPECS
  • Platform: AR10, AR15, M4, M16, M110, SR25
  • Grip Angle: 25 degrees
  • Height, receiver to bottom: 4.0 in.
  • Thickness, max: 1.2 in.
  • Weight: 3.4 oz.

NOTE: This grip will function properly with 7.62 NATO AR10/SR25 style of rifles but, depending on the make of the rifle, may or may not leave a gap between the 'beaver tail' and the receiver. This gap is purely aesthetic and will not affect function.

A few tradeoffs for those who want them.
Here's my take on the "+" line: it fills a niche for those who don't want or don't need the usual texturing, but it sacrifices several minor aspects of function to do so. The thing is, it doesn't merely consist of a thin coat over an otherwise unmodified grip; rather, the rubber is a substantial shell over a smaller polymer frame. In practice, areas such as the front and back textural ridges and much of the beavertail lack a solid backbone and are prone to some flexing. I'm not saying this makes the item flimsy, and the rubber is decently grippy without overdoing it, but it doesn't always offer the responsiveness and supportiveness of hard plastic grips. Additionally, the smaller inner frame condenses the interior storage space enough to prevent use of, for example, Magpul's own grip-storage oil bottle, and the tacky surface seems to make manipulation of the safety less smooth. For some these will be worthwhile tradeoffs, and the item is certainly very functional, but for optimum performance I'd personally suggest the originals.

nice product!
I love this grip! feels much better then the stock grip that came with my AR... only downside is that it is a little hard to get the storage compartment open, not sure if it is just mine or if that is a common problem.

MOE + Grip
This fits great in my hand. Not to squishy and not to firm. The bottom cover takes some time to remove, but several times of opening and closing makes one getting used to it. I like the idea of extra storage(ear plugs).

Magpul MOE+ Pistol Grip
This grip is by far better than holding onto the hard plastic type supplied with a LPK. It seems to be very sturdy and well made. Only problem I have with it, is the suppled screw. It did not tighten. I noticed it was shorter than the screw supplied with the LPK I purchased. Ended up using the screw and lockwasher supplied with the LPK. Now, the grip is on nice and tight. Thought it was just this one time problem, but a friend asked to put a MOE+ on his AR and we had the same problem with the screw (2 different lowers). This is is still a nice grip and I will get another.

Great design features
Has all the design ergonomics, features and good looks of the original MOE grip but with a rubberized exterior lining. I do like the cushiony feeling of the rubber exterior but it is somewhat slippery being non textured. I would have preferred a peebled surface to improve the grip feel. It is still a very good grip overall.
