Just Make Sure to Check for Head Space!
I bought the DD 1:7 barrel and this bolt carrier with complete bolt set up and all I can say is check your headspace after your build. After assembling my rifle, I took it to a gunsmith to check the head space and the rifle would NOT chamber with a GO GAUGE. This was very bad. We were able to determine that there was something wrong with the bolt after switching out various parts from several working rifles into mine and vice versa.Even though I bought the product from Brownells, DD was very helpful and sent me a replacement bolt ASAP.After reassembly, I took the rifle for another inspection and I had the same problem, but it was not as bad. We were able to chamber the GO GAUGE with more effort than necessary when pulling back on the charging handle. It feels like the Gauge gets stuck and requires force to pull the charging handle back to cycle the round. We did put a dummy .223 round in and the rifle cycled just fine.As a result, the gunsmith told me to be cautious and selective of the ammo I buy.I took the rifle to the range and it fired just fine. I shot 20 rounds at the local range and was very happy that everything worked out.I was just a little disappointed with the experience and am still very confused why the bolt would not cycle even when we tried it on 3 different GO GAUGES. Aside from that experience, the quality of the carrier is superb. The key is properly staked and there is no play at all. I would definitely recommend, but make sure to take the proper precaution and check the headspace for your rifle.
