Good handguard
I bought this to replace a larger, oval-shaped handguard. That handguard fit very well but I prefer the smaller diameter. This one has aluminum liners in them. It took several tries to get the two handguard sections to fit without having gaps where they join. Sometimes one side fit together perfectly and the other side has a gap, or vice -versa. Finally, after several tries I eliminated the gaps on both sides and they fit tightly together. The handguard is good. Good price.

"Good" and as others describe...
I am perfectly happy with these round (skinny) grips... but as others say in the reviews, the point where they engage the delta ring is oversize and must be ground down a bit to fit optimally. I measured them against several others types and brands I had on hand, and they are in fact about 50 to 70 thousandths of an inch larger than several (4) other carbine handguards I had available to measure.
This was not a big deal to me. There is plenty of material there, and only took a minute with a Dremel and sanding drum to reach a perfect fit... glad they weren't loose.
It would be nice (5 stars) if they were closer to spec, but for the price I am not bothered at all.
Other than the necessity to fit them, they are very good... you don't get reenactment quality for $11. If you just want a functional "skinny" handguard and don't mind a little fitting, they are probably for you.
Hope this helps.

Good
As others have stated in some reviews, I also needed to take some material off for fore end to fit. Hard install but feels much better than the big oval M4 fore end. I'm happy with it.
Works well, not retro
For those looking for a retro style skinny, these aren’t really what you’re looking for!
These have 7 holes while the Colt retro have 6 holes.
They were tough to get into the delta ring and took some smacking with a rubber mallet to finally seat but once in, no complaints!
A bit of a tight fit.
These are a good set of handguards, but they fit considerably tighter than the double heat shield pair I took off. You can't as easily remove and reinstall them as some others.
Its okay
Brownells as a company gets 5 stars, they are always ontop of their game, and this item was shipped to me very fast. This product however, is just not working for me. It is great quality material, and I absolutely love the size of it, - it feels so much better than the original factory grip, but it is not fitting in my Colt M4 (CR6920). - and I have to admit and recognize that this may possibly be on Colts fault for problem. I believe I can make it work, with a bit of sanding and a drimel, but it's just disappointing that it doesnt naturally fit my particular model. Over all, it's a nice quality piece, and I recommend the gamble.
Required fitting
Purchased this for a retro build that I planned on spray painting. It feels fine overall but required some sanding to fit a DD delta ring. I can't complain for a sub $10 handguard.
Slim is definitely better
Been using the standard round handguard for years and found it too bulky for my liking. When I got this one it was like night and day. More comfortable than the factory issue and still retain the classic good looks of the original. Excellent quality inside and out and the fitting is perfect - tight. Bought two of these, one for my AR and one for my tactical 1022 build. No matter where you used it, slim is better. It would have earned my 5-star if it is available in other colors.
Good for the money
Just received mine today got them on my Windham weapons upps they look great but the delta ring end of them is a bit snug and will need sanding. The inner heat sheiod is toughing my gas tube also not sure how well you will be able to mount stuff on these. The feel decent don't move at all on the gun
