Does the job!

My 617 .22lr was spitting bad and leading up the forcing cone area. This chamfer bit did the trick! Took about 5 minutes. I didn’t do a lot at first, didn’t want to take off too much. First test at the range was a total success!

S&W 617-6

This is the rod for the 617-6. It is a snug fit but that's what is needed to keep the forcing cone cutter centered

Correct a manufactorers deficiency!

This tool works like a charm and is very easy to use. Go slow, use plenty of cutting oil and check your progress often and you will get professional results. The forcing cone on my Ruger Single Six looked as if it was cut using a chisel... but after using Brownwell's chamfer cutter, it looks perfect. I now get a lot less leading and the accuracy is much improved.

A great tool!

Completely eliminated lead shaving, and dramatically improved acuracy in my S&W 617. Cuts very smoothly, and leaves a very fine finish. Made my own pilot shaft from brass...should be a simple job for anyone who has a lathe.
