Eighteen incredibly thin bits to fit the extra-narrow screw slots often encountered in the gun shop. Take great care when using these bits. The blade MUST fill the slot from side-to-side and edge-to-edge or it will most certainly break on a firmly seated screw. Freeze spray, heat, penetrating oil, a few taps, regrinding the bit for an even better fit - all these tricks can help give success.

Good Set!

Good set, I have them handy on my bench. My biggest complaint is that when they were shipped to me, they were in a padded shipping envelope, the plastic case was shattered, this seems to be a recurring theme in the reviews. These should be shipped in a small box instead. I didn't feel it was worth my time to fight over the box because I keep them out on my bench. If the box had been intact, I would have given them 5 stars.

They are very nice

I think they are great addition to my gunsmithing tools. The only thing I am disappointed in is they aren't thin enough for the project I was working on.

Bits shipped safely, case broken

PROS: These bits enhance my choices when working on firearms. YAY! CONS: I had to repair the case (15 min.) with UPS tape. Inadequately shipped in a 8 x 10 bubble envelope. Top shattered and hinge bits snapped off. SELF DESCRIPTION: Gun owner, cleaner, repairman, modifier, enhancer, Marksman.

General Use

First, the cons: 1) Bits did not quite fit deep enough in the wooden holder to allow the plastic box to close. Missed by maybe 0.030". Holes were an odd ID, ~0.307", but I had a mill cutter that was close and deepened them just a touch. 2) Pricey, but you have to pay to get this quality. Pros: I bought these as an add-on for the Magna-Tip super set and they are of the same exceptional quality. I have not put any torque to them yet, so can't comment on how they'll hold up in that regard, but the finish and accuracy of the edge - surfaces parallel, no wedge shaped end - is apparent at a glance. Good made in USA quality.
