Works….mostly
Picked up this parts kit to complete on of the Brownells RDS ready slides. All the parts fit and everything seemed ready to go. Unfortunately I immediately started getting failures to extract - something that has NEVER happened in the 20 years of owning my Glock 17. I pulled the extractor from my stock slide and that immediately solved the problem. Tried fitting the new extractor into my stock slide and it wouldn’t fit. Might be able to rework it by hand to fit, but that goes against the whole “drop-in fit” selling point. The rest of the parts work so far, so I guess I can pick up another stock extractor to complete my old slide.
Good value but some parts fragile
Used this part for a P80 build into a Brownells G17 slide. Everything was there and went together well except for they captive recoil spring which used a polymer guide rode. The endcap of the guide rod broke off and the recoil spring assembly blew apart during fitting.
Affordable
Parts kit was not difficult to install if you're familiar with Glock products. It did require a little bit of fitting. The biggest problem I had was that the firing pin safety spring was not included in the kit I received but luckily I had one laying around. One missing spring was not the time and effort to send the kit back for another one.
