AR-15 C7 STRIPPED UPPER RECEIVER Reviews & Ratings

AR-15 C7 STRIPPED UPPER RECEIVER

Brownells expanded its lineup of retro AR-15 components with the new Brownells C7 Stripped Upper Receiver. This unique receiver design features the correct carry-handle contours for Canadian C7 clones or the Colt Model 723 used by the military during the "Black Hawk Down" time frame. Each Brownells C7 Stripped Upper Receiver is built with a similar profile as the company's M16A1 upper receivers, including an original A1 profile that incorporates a shell deflector, A1 rear-sight housing and the aforementioned carry-handle design.

  • Completely stripped
  • A1/C7
  • Shell deflector and forward assist housing
  • All-black finish
  • Has M4 feedramps
  • Works with all standard AR-15 components

Made from 7075-T6 forged aluminum, each Brownells C7 Stripped Upper Receiver is machined to military specifications and then treated with a matte-black, hard-anodized finish.

it works
Three things wrong with mine. The take down pin holes are off. The rear is hard to take out and the front has to be hammered out. It does the same thing on all of my lowers. The second is the raised section where the mag release is left of the bolt catch. It is way off from all my lowers. I also had to file down the ejection port door where it latches. other then that it works fine.

Anodizing blems Q3 23
I've been looking for C7 upper for a retro inspired build for a while, hard to find. The price was good on these compared to the others out there. The two I received had cosmetic blems in the anodizing on the charging handle channel exterior, and one had a Z shape dented into the carry handle prior to anodizing. I don't really care, but it was obvious enough to notice. I've bought blems from PSA that were harder to find than this. I guess it gives it more of a retro look?

Good Reicever at good price
Receiver looks good. Machining and anodizing look good, and fit well on a variety of lowers. Just wish they were in stock more consistently.

Fixed handle on SA lower
My first ar. Upper fits my lower very well. I dont have pins to properly mount and check but it sits right so far.all edges good no nicks or dents.threads clean. Has A mark on it and no other marks.my colors dont match well but with 200 factories making these your best bet is get upper and lower from same place. Or send to refinish locally when you get it to see how yours look. So far very pleased with it. Packaging was in plastic bag, in bottom of box with small airbags on top. Arrived on time no damage. Finish is good and even. The edges are all consistent and clean.

Cosmetically Perfect, Great Fit Too.
There were no blemishes, nicks, scratches on the upper I received. Like some of the other reviews there is a small gap space at the rear area of the buffer tube. I have no idea if it will cause any issues during shooting. No problems during assembly either. It all went togethier smoothly.

Not bad
Anodizing is good. Rear sight holes, ejection port, interior machining all appear within spec. The receiver extension hole is a bit loose (I tried it with two barrels, same result, more than average play in the fit), which isn't a huge deal but it will probably effect accuracy a bit. Overall, a decent deal.
