Perfect fit
About as solid set of rings that you could possibly buy fantastic value
Great Rings!
Securely mounted an old Burris 3x to my AR15 carry handle using the Smith carry handle ramp with these rings. Very robust. Shooting sub MOA groups!
great product
great set of rings used them on two different .300 win mag rifles and never had any issues they are good quality construction.
Best for the money
I don't like to mess with stuff that doesn't work, and this works. I had a set of cheap vortex scope rings on a 308 of mine, and they did not do the job. My scope was moving forward and I could not get the rifle to group. I ordered these and the problem is solved. The scope is mounted solid, and they don't look to bad either. I didn't really want to go with the big tactical rings, but function is more important than finish. I can rely on my scope to hold zero and not worry about the little things anymore. I will be using these from now on. Also, these don't exactly specify but they will fit a Weaver rail.
A new definition of TOUGH!
I decided to try a pair of these rings due to the advice from one of my clients, in addition to the fact that I refused to pay $200.00 or more just for a pair of rings! I have found that many of those high dollar rings are no better, if as good, as a less expensive set! Maybe there is bragging rights in the name or something, I do not know. If one of my clients insists on high dollar rings they must either provide them to me, or pay up front if I have to order them. At any rate: When I opened the package I quickly discovered they rings are Very Professionally Made, look GOOD and I could find NO faults with the anodized finish, or the rest of the parts that are involved in the construction of these rings. Even though they are made of Aluminium, as "beefy" as they are, I would not hesitate to put them up against certain other manufacturers Steel rings! Burris warrants these mounts to preform flawlessly - Forever! If you follow the included instructions you will find that the Upper Ring Halves use a T-15 Driver at 20 in/lbs and the Side Attachment Nuts take a 1/2" hex at 65 to 100 in/lbs. PLEASE NOTE: These are INCH POUNDS and NOT Foot Pounds! I set my Upper Rings at the 20 in/lbs but only 80 in/lbs on the Side Attachment Nut. I did not feel, and testing with my 375 RUM using a 300 gr bullets at 2900 fps, showed I did NOT need to tighten the Side Atachment Nuts to the full 100 in/lbs these rings are capable of taking. So I now KNOW they will work well on my personal "AR" project! At the price you pay for these rings I personally feel they are the "Best Bang For The Buck" you can purchase at today's prices! They WILL outperform other lesser brands of rings! I have already proved that to myself. I guess the best recommendation that I can give, is that, I plan on putting them on my other personal rifles in place of the other brands of mounts, I have on those rifles at this time! I hope this review helps my fellow shooters and Gunsmiths. :-)
Great Rings
Great rings. Mounted a Vortex Viper to a Remington 700 in .308 win. They've been on the rifle for 2 years now and have never lost zero. They look good too. They are lightweight so you can make the weight requirements for some matches too
Heavy but solid
I have these on two 223 AR platforms. They work as expected.
Not the Best
I used these for several years as my AR rings. They are slightly higher (not much, just enough to notice) than rings which are considered "typical" AR height, and they're needlessly heavy, at least for an AR which has no recoil to speak of. I ended up selling them and going with a different make with a slightly lower height, smaller ring width (allows for greater scope fore/aft placement flexibility), and lighter weight. Having acknowledged all that, if I had a "space gun" bolt-action built on AR dimensions I might consider these since they're strong enough to hold against recoil and the slight height advantage may pay out with a huge diameter objective. Frankly, though, I think for those users, they'd have such a high-end rifle/scope they'd go with a higher end ring.
