Rifle Rest
High quality, Im very happy with the product.
Quality rest
The Sinclair rest is well built and rock solid. Good adjustment controls especially the windage adjustable base. If I had one knock on this product it’s that the assembly instructions are awful. Outside of that I’m very pleased with this rest.

Why did I wait to get this?
I decided to get this rest after a friend suggested it. I had been using sand bags prior and wanted to improve repeatability for my reload testing. This was just the ticket, well worth the investment, I shouldn't have waited so long. Definitely a quality produce, very smooth movement, unlike other brands that have very coarse adjustments. The only con I have are the poor instructions that came with it. They just made me question the proper setup as they didn't include all the parts so I just had to figure it out. Matched it with a NO. 1 small owl ear front bag, perfect fit, now to decide on the rear bag height.
USA made. Excellent quality
Very precise and perfect for load development, rifle zero, long range varmint, target and competitive target shooting. You could buy two of the off shore rests for what one of these cost, but less than half the quality of the Sinclair. There is no comparison. For what shooters spend in total on firearms, optics, ammo and reloading equipment - for less than half the price of new rifle- the Sinclair precision, lifetime warranty (doubt it will ever be needed) and made in USA make this an easy purchase.
Very satisfied with my new rest
Very happy with the new rest it checks all the boxes for me. Very nicely finished and precision machined the photos don't do it justice. I also purchased the Edgewood front bag and "Grab Handle" rear bad and they are also of very high quality as well. The rest is relatively heavy (approximately 20 lbs.) and sturdy with no convenient carry handle so this is not one you want to haul any long distance. My only complaint is the rather vague 1 page instruction sheet but it wasn't to difficult to figure out how to assemble. I purchased one 15 lbs. bag of sand and it was enough to fill both bags shown with about a 1/2 cup left over
Very Nice Piece of Equipment
Very well constructed. Went together with not issues. Looking forward to getting familiar with it at the range.
Sinclair Heavy Varmint Rest
Rest is nice however, I had to re-tap the treads in the rear leveling bolt hole, as the bolt only went about one third of the way down and didn't reach the bottom of the leg. Pretty dissapointing for a rest this expensive to have to correct a manufacturing defect.

Sinclair Heavy Varmint Rest
first off let me say this is a good rest but not perfect out of the box. I ordered a right hand rest (windage adjustment on left side) but the one I received had the windage adjustment on the right side so I had to return it. one issue I noticed on the rest I returned was the right front leg the foot would not screw all the way into it. if I were to keep this rest it would need to have a tap run through it to clean up the threads. returned the rest and ordered another righthand rest. this one was correct when I received it. once again on the right front leg I wasn't able to screw the foot into it. ran a tap through it to clean up the threads and it works fine. also the two adjustment screws to squeeze the bag had to be cleaned up as well as you couldn't screw them in all the way to where the side plates would squeeze the bag. overall these were minor issues which were probably cause by painting after machining.
Great rest for the price
I use the Gen II version of this rest for sighting in rifles and for shooting groups at 100 and 300 yards. I bought the bag in the photo for use with my flat-forend 6mm BR rifle, and just bought a second bag for use with rounded sporter-style forend rifles. My group sizes are much more consistent with this rest, as I can adjust it to provide rock-solid support on targets at varying heights. Only downside is that the target picture moves up slightly when I lock the vertical adjustment, so I have to fiddle with it a bit to get it locked and right on the target. Not a big deal but it does eat a few seconds on every shot. Windage adjustment doesn't have this problem. Still, vastly superior to any other rest I've owned and moderately priced compared to many other options. By the way, this is a HEAVY rest.
sand bag leaves much to be desired
The rest is great with a stationary bag. The adjustable bag supplied is of poor design. If you over fill the bag you can not pinch the sides. If you underfill it to make the side adjustments the center portion will be to low and the stock can rub on the retaining plate or the screws. It is nigh on impossible to get the proper balance. The instructions supplied called for one cup of sand, no way could I get that much in. Mabey with a lighter material the bag will work as intended I bought the other unit with a 3 inch stationary bag and love it I bought the top unit as pictured to have a quick change for my other rifles and it works sort of.
