Good fit, great product, easy to use

Installed this on my old Winchester model 12. It almost fit exact, just needed a small amount of fitting at the bottom, easily done with Dremel abrasive and then polish. I am not very good at anything requiring such artistic workmanship, however this butt plate material is easy to work with and when this was completed the butt plate looked very good on the stock and even my lack of workmanship "matched" the existing old stock, if you get my drift! Glad I made the purchase from Brownell's. The butt plate is good quality. Extremely fast processing and shipping by Brownell's.

Almost perfect

Bought as a replacement for the brittle and chipped original. Holes lined up perfectly, minor fitting on the edges and my trusty 12 is as good as new.

Decent looking replacement part but needs better Quality Control

Overall It looks good on the outside. I was disappointed in the quality control. On the inside where the lower screw goes through there is a big chip out of the thick collar which is supposed to add strength to the screws pressure. As it is, a portion of the collar is chipped off and missing, which causes uneven clamping force and creates a weak point for cracking/future damage. Overall its ok, but they need better QC as personally this one should have been rejected.

Does not fit contours of old stock

Looks good but does not match early 16 ga stock. This was too short and too narrow to fit stock. Also the original butt is slightly curved and this unit has a flat base.Border on face of buttplate does not allow for much fitting. Recommend carefully measuring your stock before ordering

Did not fit my shotgun

This was not a replacement for the Model 12 that I have and the holes did not fit the screw holes in the stock .Not sure if this is a replacement for the later model 12s but it does not fit the early model 12
