It works.
The factory rubber butt pad would fetch up on my clothing. This butt plate solves the problem. You will likely need to drill new holes. I filled in the factory holes with plastic putty. Then I used black nail polish to color the dry putty.

Yes, I would recommend to a friend
Needs modifications.
Purchased for my Henry Big Boy Lever X. Henry's screw location seems different than everyone else's. But I am using plastic filler putty to fill in the plate screw holes. Then I drilled in new screw holes.
UNIVERSAL BUTT PLATE MEDIUM
Ordered this generic butt plate for a customers, antique 22 rifle. The original stock was long gone and someone had replaced it with a custom-made, oddly shaped piece. High-quality but light fit, perfectly, sanded easily, and polished up nicely.
Universal Butt Plate
Edges of butt plate sanded easily. Started with 100 grit sandpaper and progressed down to 320. Polished with 0000 steel wool. Looked very good. Since it sanded very easily, I have a question about its long term durability.
Easy Project
It was easy to install. Minimal sanding for a perfect fit. Fits many different shotguns.
Medium Butt Plate
Almost too small for LC Smith shotgun, I should have ordered a large and ground to fit. Unfortunately Brownells didn't have the #12 screws in stock, I had to bead blast hardware store zinc plated screws and cold blue them to look right.
Great butt plate for your stock projects
I shortened the stock on my M1A to make it more ergonomically friendly. This universal but plate was just what was needed to complete the project. Shaping the plate on a belt sander to match the stock was easier than I thought it would be.
