This, along with the competition spring kit, really smoothed out the trigger of my G23.
Smooths out stock trigger considerably
Bought this on a whim for my G34. I have a stock trigger and occassionally CC it, so I'm not going to swap out the trigger. This Safety Plunger by Apex is considerably smoother than the OEM one I removed. Even after installing it and just using a cleanin rod to depress it with the slide separate the frame, you can tell glides when depressed. I don't have anything to measure trigger pull so I can't tell you if it lowered it any (definitely didn't increase it) but it's a bit smoother. You still get a very audible reset, and no malfunctions; it's just a slightly "smoother" trigger pull. Note: It doesn't come with a spring; you'll have to use the factory one. Be careful when swapping it out, because I "lost" it twice in my work station; I was lucky that I could locate it, because I didn't have any spares on hand. If you've never taken your Glock apart further than slide, frame, barrel, recoil spring, don't worry. All you need is a ball point pen or anything with a thin/hard tip and you can swap out this part in under 2 minutes. Nothing major, dangerous, or complicated. Watch videos online.
It works. Replaced one that didn't.
Used in a Gen 3 G17 aftermarket slide and also replaced the extractor with Apex part. Function is smooth and reliable with this Plunger. I would have rated it higher if it came with a new spring. To upgrade the Plunger and not replace the Spring seemed wrong. So, I replaced the plunger spring as well as the bearing for the Apex Extractor and retained the stock rod.
Not what I expected
I put the entire APEX kit in a Gen 4 Glock 17. The safety in the ad looks like it is perfectly mirror polished with contoured edges and in the ad photo, the top face looks similarly sized to my stock 17 gen 4 plunger. My stock plunger had been "modified" by me with about 30 seconds of work using a polishing wheel to make it nice and smooth. The APEX was not as polished as my home job but seemed equally smooth to the touch, it appeared to have slightly better machining with less pitting but still lots of readily visible tooling marks, like the stock unit had. The hole depth and size for the safety plunger spring is identical to stock. The rest of the safety is identical except for to top couple millimeters of the top. It is actually longer than the stock safety top and has a wider flat face, which is indeed a sharp transition like my Gen 4 and not a rounded one, nor are the edges rounded. Rounding the edges would have made me give it 5 stars on that alone. The 45 degree flat edge seems less polished than the flat top of the safety and the sides are even less polished. The rest of the unit is unpolished as in the photo. I can not really tell much of a difference vs. my polished stock piece in actual use. It is not what I expected and I am not sure if it is worth buying unless someone wanted to keep stock parts pristine while they swapped to different triggers to find one they like. Its also an option for someone without a rotary polisher or a polish and a rag (and lots of patience). Overall, it seems about the same as a stock plunger that has been polished, so for me I could not find increased performance. There is also nothing especially wrong with it. Therefore, I give it 3 stars

This part gives no improvement whatsoever over stock. You can polish your stock part and get the same result. The steep angle on top of the plunger need to be rounded to yield a smoother pull. You can DIY or buy one that actually is worth the money.
