MAGPUL® TMAG® GEN M3 RIFLE MAGAZINE FOR AR-15/M4

MAGPUL® TMAG® GEN M3 RIFLE MAGAZINE FOR AR-15/M4 Reviews & Ratings

MAGPUL® TMAG® GEN M3 RIFLE MAGAZINE FOR AR-15/M4

The TMAG AR/M4 GEN M3 magazine is a highly reliable, translucent magazine for STANAG-compatible weapons chambered in 5.56x45 NATO/.223 Remington. Molded from a translucent material with an ODG/ Smoke hue, it provides shooters visibility to verify various ammunition types as well as round count. Featuring ribbed front and rear straps for improved purchase during magazine changes, the sides are left smooth to ensure visibility. Like the rest of the GEN M3 family of magazines, the TMAG incorporates similar internal geometry that translates into unmatched reliability when firing. The four-way, anti-tilt follower is paired with a durable USGI-spec, stainless-steel spring with a painted coil, which maintains the “gas gauge” capability from Magpul’s Window magazine product line. The magazine body is clearly marked to show approximate round counts when inserted in a magazine well, and the paint-pen dot matrix allows for aftermarket markings to be applied by shooters.

The TMAG’s low-profile floor plate also allows for compatibility with the full line of Magpul floor-plate accessories. The TMAG is optimized for Colt-spec AR15/M4 platforms, but modified internal and external geometry also permits operation with a range of other weapons such as the HK®416 / MR556A1 /M27 IAR, FN®SCAR™MK 16 / 16S, and others.

After OEM, there's Magpul....
Great magazines, own many of them in Gen 2 and 3 and have used them for thousands of rounds down range in 5.56NATO. Never had a magpul magazine fail. I stack them up to 30 for the range and 28 usually for home defense just to make the mag easier to insert with a closed bolt.

Don’t work
Fails to feed about every third round. No other magazine I have has this problem.

Worse then a Lancer mag LOW -T confirmed, Magpul should have heeded Travis Haleys evaulations a decade ago
I don't like making this, but the magpul first batch of Tmags is horrendous, you are better off buying magpul m3 window magazines, e2 mags, hk maritime mags, or even used gi mags over this. heed this information if you intend to use this for duty use or defense use. It feels like cheap abs airsoft plastic in the hands with uneven rough grittiness that is abscent from my older magpuls and even recent m3s this year. First I did a simple test of fully loading the t mag and other listed magazines with mk318 mod1 The Magazine order is as follows from left to right, 1994 restricted hk 416 maritime magazine 2021 Suresneed e2 black 2021 Surefeed e2 Grey 2021 Magpul m3 window pmag blk "nsn marked" 2024 Magpul M3 Tmag od green 2016 Lancer AWM FDE Translucent "prerecall" The test of 3 simple hard taps on the bottom of the magazine to get the indicated picture as shown below. Followed by a 1 yard drop with the magazine feed lips facing down onto a padded carpet rug with the second indicated picture as show I omitted the lancer awm even though it did drop a rd during the drop since I moved the magazine from the original location. To sum it up The Tmag let a rd go during the tap test that dented the rd of mk318 mod1 below it. I dropped the magazine after removing the stuck up bullet and ommitted that rd for benefit of the doubt. I dropped the Tmag from desk height straight down onto a padded carpet rug it ejected a rd again and dented the 3 rds below it on the right hand side. Avoid this for anything other than light training range use or collecting discontinued magpul memorabilia. In conclusion I was hoping for a better result than what was proven in the past. side note you can remove the follower and pinch the feed lips together and it will reform back like a squishy dog chew toy. it's squishy like the old batch of fnx 45 magwells without needing to be in direct sunlight or toasty!
