Bright LED
I was concerned about what the beam quality would turn out to be. Wide and shallow (good for shot pattern), or deep and focused (good for slugs) are the trends that I have seen most lights follow. Not to worry! This beam has both qualities! I have easily lit and identified targets at 100 yards for slug engagements, as well as having plenty of beam "scatter" at closer ranges for searching or a moving target engagement.
You will not be disappointed with this!!
Purchased for my 870 Remington pump, was looking for a bright and dependable light built into the pump forend. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!! The on/off switch is the entire rubber "streamlight" logo on both sides of the grip. It is insanely bright and exactly what I was looking for. I hunted around and found other forend lights for twice the money, glad I bought this!!!
STREAMLIGHT'S Shockwave Forend Light
The "Shockwave" is designed for home defense, and close up personal defense. When it first came out it was basically "all alone" in it's design and quality. Still is in my personal opinion. All it needed was the "Streamlight" designed forend, which Brownells made available recently. I had seen the Streamlight forend before but it wasn't advertised as specifically made for the Shockwave. So as far as I know Brownells was the first company to make it available. Thank you Brownells! The Streamlight forend light is MUCH more practical, and easy to use in a combat situation, being built into the forend, than one that is attached by itself to the barrel or "rail" of a personal defense weapon such as this. So if you are lucky enough to have a Shockwave? THIS IS THE FOREND LIGHT TO BUY! Brownells ships this item fast, it is packed extremely well and safely so that no damage can occur in transit to you by mail handlers. And it is priced more than fairly for it's superior design and manufacture. It is also unique and well made. I would sincerely recommend it to anyone with a Shockwave that wishes to make a practical and efficient addition to a fine weapon of self defense.
20 rounds of 00
Installed on a Mossberg Shockwave. It took about 20 minuets. It added some weight to the forend and that is a good thing. After running through a box of 00 buck, no problems with the light, but my wrist was sore! As far as the brightness goes, I have had cars that didn't have headlights this bright. Quick shipping too. Best addition to your HDW!
Can't Be Beat
I compared a lot of different lights for the Shockwave and decided that I didn't want a light that attached alongside the fore grip. The TL Racker has the light built into the fore grip and can't snag on anything or get moved out of line. It is a perfect fit and comes with a strap, like the one that comes with the Shockwave (it's actually a little longer) and the light is 1000 lumen and extremely bright with nothing in the way of the light. It took less than 2 minutes to install and doesn't really change the appearance of the firearm. The price is fantastic compared to similar products that cost a heck of a lot more. The light is ambidextrous and works great. Brownells backs up everything they sell and delivery was extremely fast, it actually arrived early. I definitely would recommend this product. There is a forend nut tool that makes it easier to remove the forend nut. Check out videos to decide if you need/want the tool.
Effective & Ergonomic Low-Profile Light
Essentially theres only two integrated forend lights in the game. This is the one (the cheaper one) I opted for and so far I have no regrets. Its not hollow, cheap plastic feeling but rather has that quality, well constructed thought-out ergonomic feel to it, like a Glock. Once on the shotgun it feels like it belongs there and fits great in your hand. Very positive activation with the switches and with sufficient light output for its intended purpose. Basically theres SF, this one, or yanky. Go with this one and youll be happy.
Nice Rugged Forend Light...and Bright!
Rugged construction, nice bright 850 lumen LED light, easy to reach actuator button the length of the forend, A great product by Streamlight.
The best shotgun lighting system
I have always been searching for a reliable shotgun lighting system, as I found the surefire option underpowered and the other options had equipment drawbacks. After transitioning from active duty to LE, I was introduced to streamlight's new tactical lights. I had previously been unimpressed years prior. The TLR-1HL blew me away with it's higher level performance than most of the competition and at an affordable price. With this experience, I then jumped to purchase both versions of these lights to fit my shotguns. Rem 870 and Mossberg 590 Tac. I am happy with the fit and light output of 850 lumens. Outperforming my issued surefire light. I only saw one slight draw back was there is a gap near the slide bars. But I have not put these into rough use yet. At first install, it appears a non issue. And definitely not a deal breaker. So in my honest opinion, these are your best lighting option for the two most popular slide action shotguns. NFI
