Awesome should have started with this over the dry media. If you are on the fence about this save and buy it. It makes a difference for sure.

I have been using an industrial ultrasonic cleaner; better than vibrator/corn cob, but I still wasn't satisfied. On a suggestion from a fellow shooter, I purchased this unit and the stainless media. 1st suggestion: buy the media transfer magnet up front. I didn't: I have one now!! I did an initial ultrasonic clean on 200 .22-250 AI cases and put them in the Thumler. Added distilled water, stainless media, and Lemi Shine Detergent Booster then tumbled for 3 hours. Brass was spotless both inside and out, as well as the primer pockets. 2nd Suggestion: Be careful when you open the tumbler. the pins stick at the top of the rubber gasket as well as to the rubber gasket. They can go everywhere if you get in a hurry to remove the gasket. 3rd. suggestion: I rinsed the brass in tap water, placed it on a cookie sheet, and put it the kitchen oven at 120 degrees for 2 hours. WRONG! Brass tarnished terribly and water spotted as well. I put the brass back in the Thumler for 2 hours, this time I removed the brass directly from the tumbler, primer pocket up to wash/shake out any pins, and put it directly into a stainless mesh basket. I used an air hose to blow off as much of the exterior moisture as possible and then placed the brass on the trays of a 600W food dehydrator, set it at 120 degrees and left it for 2 hours. Brass was dry and looked better than new. 4th suggestion: get a food dehydrator for drying. I paid $60 on eBay. I then did 200 .223 Rem cases using the same procedures. Again, the brass came out looking better than new, however, maybe 10% of the cases had stainless media pins stuck in the primer flash hole. I used a small diameter punch to gently press them out, with minimal effort. To dry the media, I have placed it into a 4 qt. sauce pan and placed it on the stove, heating the media so as 'boil' off the water. It requires stirring the pins. This is a hassle, I'm going try placing the media in a foil roasting pan and the oven next time. I am now pleased with how my brass looks. It is clean both inside, primer pockets, and outside. I don't believe there is a hassle free way to clean brass, but using the Thumler isn't any more of a hassle than any other method I've tried. I would recommend this unit.

Thumler's tumbler is a very well designed, HEAVY DUTY product. I was surprised at the heavy guage steel used in this product. Painted heavy enamel coating is excellent, it is definitely not a toy! I used 3/4 of the steel pins in my first batch with 2 teaspoons of Dawn and a teaspoon of Lemi-Shine. All I can say is WOW!

This thing will make your brass look like new. Cleaned 100 .308 and 50 45 ACP cases in one batch and have never gotten brass this clean. The inside or the cases and primer pockets looked like new brass. Used Dawn dish soap and Lemi-shine.

I've been wanting to try one of these and with the special pricing on black Friday I gave it a go. My first batch of cases were about 200 pieces of .223 brass that were in horrible condition. They were previously cleaned in a vibrating type cleaner for 8 hours and where unusable. I then tried a sonic cleaner for 8 cycles and still they were unusable. Too much tarnish inside necks and they were just too far gone. {I THOUGHT} Then I tried this tumbler and I stopped it at 2 hours just to see how they were doing. Amazingly they were like new inside and out. VERY impressive. This brass was going in the trash and now its like new. A+

I've been an avid reloader for 25 years and have tried many differant methods and this is the best i have ever used .my brass is as clean as the day it was made at the factory. I've actualy purchased new brass that wasn't this clean.just follow the directions its simple ! I did however glue a piece of 1" foam on the bottom of the tumbler wich made it even quiter

Just got my tumbler and first batch was 200 rounds of 1 year-old Lake City 5.56mm deprimed. I decided to use Tide HE to the #2 line (I choose this over Dawn since I was thinking the tumbler is kind of like an HE washer and Tide HE has "dirt trapping properties") and 3 squirts of oxiclean dishwashing booster (for shine). I let it run for 4 hours with the stainless media. While it was running, I made a drying rack by nailing 200 galvanized 2 1/2" finishing nails with a nailer into a pine board (just punched them through then flipped the board over). After reading the other reviews I didn't have huge expectations, I just wanted the brass acceptable to reload. When I opened the lid, I couldn't believe it! The brass wasn't only clean, but polished and shiny, even better when it was new!! I would compare the end result to buying brand, shiny new remington or winchester brass. This product exceeded my expectations so well I just had to share with fellow reloaders!!

I've had this setup for over a year now, It really does a fantastic job of cleaning the most filthy and stained brass. I just did 500 44 mag cases that had been sitting in a bucket in a basement for 10 years..they were slightly corroded,heavily stained, just horrible. After 2 hours tumbling using Dawn and Lemi-Shine they look like new! Can't praise this system enough. The only downside is it is a little more labor intensive due to cleanup afterwards. Separating the s/s "pins" from the brass is a pain, but , the end result is worth the extra work.

I purchased the smaller kit and can't be happier with the results. I tumbled some some brass right off, but threw some real bad range bucket brass (it looked black) into the mix. When I pulled it all out I could not find the "bad" brass in the mix; it all looked new. I have a large dry tumbler, but after reading so many reviews I thought I'd give this a try. I figured with the smaller capacity I'd use it for my long range brass, but with my large unit crashing on me I started with my pistol brass. After several batches cleaning .40 S&W brass I'm down to 1.5 hours, a very small amount of Dawn, and a dash of Lemishine; it comes out like new. So while the capacity is smaller the turn around is faster and the results were far better. I could almost clean in a day the same amount of brass as my large dry medium tumbler. I do large batches of reloads and was going to have my old tumbler fixed, but will just keep going with my Lil' Red tumbler and save up the money to get the larger unit in time. The only downside is the start up cost, but works awesome.

So far I've used the SS Media tumbler on 10 to 16 thousand Really dirty brass cases.. 30-06 down to 380's... If used as instructed and It does work... retaing the SS media is A little difficult.. but it can be worked around, be sure to get the media seperator kit to make things a lot easier... ALSO... I had a problem with the Bushings/Bearings on my tumbler... Contacted the guys who manufactured the tumbler and it was "Problem Resolved" in a heartbeat... Great product and Customer Service...
