Works well
Screw fit with no issue on standard 10/22 receiver.
Factory screw
This is a hex ended screw. On a Ruger 10/22 takedown you will need 2 of these. One for attaching the stock to the action. The other for attaching the foreend to the barrel.
Its a Screw
Its a screw and it works with 10/22 clones. Tacsol, Volquartsen and the rest. I like it better than the Volquartsen screw because it uses a large wrench. Just a personal preference thing. I am taking my rifle apart every two days to clean with the use it gets, and I like to have an extra just incase I lose one while at the range working on a rifle. No Cons.
Great Product
This is the factory Take Down Screw for the Ruger PC Carbine. Be sure to exercise care to make sure the Hex Wrench is totally inserted prior to torquing.
Ruger screw, correct length, 5/32" hex
This is Ruger's new/replacement action screw and uses a 5/32" hex key as opposed to the older slotted screw. This screw has the same length as the original slotted Ruger screws, fitting my rifle perfectly and reducing chances of cam-out with a flat screwdriver. Volquartsen sells a hex screw but it's about 3 threads shorter, risking stripping the threads in your soft metal receiver.
Too short
Screw is a bit too short. Needs to be 1/8" longer. It may work ok with the original plastic stock.
