This genuine, Colt factory part is the one used by our GI’s on the M-4 carbine to allow attachment of M203 grenade launchers or forward mounted lights and lasers. Steel, two-piece unit clamps directly around the barrel between the barrel bands of the Mil-Spec front sight housing. Can be mounted at the right or left side of weapon and features a rubber-coated swivel to eliminate sling abrasion and noise. No modifications or gunsmithing required. Also fits AR-15/M16 rifles with conventional front sight housing. SPECS: Black, hardened steel. 9?16' (1.4cm) long, 1-11?16'(4.3cm) wide. Fits barrels .650' (16.5mm) to .750' (19.1mm) diameter.

Colt part but...

While this is a Colt part it is not exactly the same as the older produced versions regarding the Cage number. This new one is more like an engraved number rather than a cast in number (as shown in the photos). If I were to guess it probably aligns with Colt going from the M4 LE model designation to the CR models. Still though, it is a quality part, as good as the Rock River part, and will serve well. It came assembled and all you have to do is drive in one roll pin to install it.

Great Mount

works great. only problem I had was the pins that came with it were way to large. simple fix tho. just bought new pins at the hardware store

These sling points are excellent

These sling points are a great addition to a CAR-15. Have used these on military issued M4's and they work. Only reason I did not give this product 5 stars was the price, its Colt so your paying for a name, but this product is worth the money in my opinon.
