What Reviewers Are Saying
Installation and Fit
67%
Many reviewers note the ease of installation and that these sights fit well on their firearms, surpassing other brands like Ameriglo in quality and fit. A few, however, encountered minor issues, requiring additional adjustments like filing the rear sight.
Brightness and Visibility
50%
The brightness of the tritium inserts is frequently praised, with reviewers mentioning that they are effective even in low light conditions. However, some wished for the front sight to be larger or brighter, to enhance visibility further, especially for self-defense scenarios.
Accuracy and Point of Aim
33%
While many users found the sights to improve their aim, there were mixed reviews regarding point of aim accuracy, with some reporting a drop in POI compared to factory sights. This inconsistency highlights a need for adjustable night sights for better alignment.
Overall Quality
75%
The S&W Tritium Night Sights are generally regarded as high-quality products. Users emphasize their rugged design, durable construction, and effective performance, which justifies their higher price point compared to other brands.
Great sights
Great sights, tritium doesn't overpower the sights at night. Very crisp and easy to aim. POA = POI on my 9mm Shield. Had to file the rear sight a touch to fit but not difficult. I will be putting them on my daughters handguns after they tried mine and liked the new sights. Don't forget to put red locktite on after/during assembly.
Buy these
This is the set you want to install on your Shield (9mm, 40 S&W) they went on easy with no problems at all, I had gotten the Ameriglo first because they were cheaper but they fit very poorly. The Trijicons fit perfect just like the factory sights, yes they cost a little more but they are worth it, which I should have known since I have Trijicons on all of my other guns.
Great Sights
Its Trijicon!! Works great!
Outstanding
Bright tritium inserts, rugged design, great fit, good looks, accurate. What else is there?
On Shield .40, shoots 5" low.
Mounted these sights on a M&P Shield 40, with Apex trigger kit. Install was fine. After a visit to the range to verify my laser boresighting, I was disappointed to find that the sights dropped my point of aim by about 4" at 15 yards. Windage was right on.. Amazingly, I had a similar problem with an M&P Shield 9 factory sights, which was solved by installing these same sights, which put the sight picture dead on. Apparently, there is some variation in the geometry of the sights, or the firearms, that is not visible in the specifications when ordering. Wish I could find adjustable night sights. Only fix now is to alter your sight picture to a triangle, instead of dot.dot.dot.
Disappoint
Self defense They fit well, the only thing my screw wouldn't go in, had to re-tap the rear sight, Poor machining with the threads ! I Wish the front was brighter or bigger, your eyes goes to the back first, not good for a Self defense Pistol !!!
