Dropped right in. No fitting needed at all.
Works great
Bought this for my M&P Shield 9mm (M1.0) to use with a Gemtech GM-45. Put hundreds of 147gr handloads through it so far without issue. Very cool little package, super fun to shoot. Great value.
Great barrel, BUT!!!!!
I have a silencer CO Barrel in my regular M&P, and I love their product; HOWEVER This barrel WILL NOT fit an M&P9 shield with the loaded chamber indicator. I am not bashing Silencer CO just want to give people a heads up. As you can see in the picture below, the notch for the chamber indicator is square, but the notch in the Silencer CO barrel is round. one of the joys of being in CA.
Love this barrel
I purchased this barrel to convert my 40 Shield to 9mm. This barrel works great for this purpose. I had a couple of failure to extract when shooting light target loads with the 40 recoil spring so I bought a lighter aftermarket spring and rod and now it's 100%. I decided to buy a 9mm shield based on the performance I saw from using this barrel in my 40 Shield. Accuracy between the 2 is consistent. The only negative comment I have is the thread protector works loose after just a few rounds. I added some teflon tape to the threads and that prevents it from working off the barrel or you can shoot without it installed. You have to remove the thread protector to remove the barrel from the slide so I didn't want to use thread lok.
Well made
Well machined. NOTE Doesn't fit M& P 9mm shield EZ. bummer!

Barrel Malfunctions with HP 9mm Ammo
As soon as I picked up this barrel at UPS I headed for the DCF Range to test fire my carry pistol (Shield) with the new barrel. Worked fine with round nose ammo. However, it jammed on every other round with hollow point 9mm. This pistol has never malfunctioned in over a year of use - the problem points to the barrel. Once I re-installed the factory barrel the pistol function perfectly. This is important since I carry this pistol and use hollow point ammunition for personal defense purposes. There were multiple observers on the range at Douglas County Firearms who witnessed these problems first hand. They all said the same thing: Take it out and send it back. I do not believe this barrel is safe when using hollow point ammunition, which is why I give it a limited function rating.
