Just what I needed
Find that this paint pen is good for other things around the house...like a bathroom drain cover that got knicked!
small area touch-ups
I have used this product numerous times to help give an AR or AK a better look after a rough day in the field.Product size is just right,as any larger would probably dry out before it all was used.Blends in well on any of the flat finishes that I have used it on.
Works suprisingly well
I bought this to touch up some pin-sized nicks in the frame of my Beretta 92FS where the bright aluminum was showing through. I cleaned the areas with alcohol and then carefully applied the paint by dabbing a toothpick into the touch up pen. It was almost a perfect match after the paint dried. It was hard to tell where the nicks used to be after the touch up job. The paint dries extremely fast. I found that if you lightly rub your finger over the painted area not long after it has dried, it helps the paint to blend into the surrounding finish even better. I was impressed with the end result and would recommend this 100% for touching up your flat black gun.
Required for all "Black Rifle" owners
Works great for touch-up of nicks and scratches on my AR, AK, and HK rifles. Easy to use; just clean with alcohol and applies like a magic marker. Dries to a nice matte black that blends in well. Every tool/cleaning kit should have one.
Quick Touch-Up
Not a bad product to do what is needed to touch up a scratched finish. Product is a bit thick and the applicator tip could be smaller for more control. Over all a good product and I will purchase again when needed.
Better than a Sharpie!
For minor touch up work pen works great. I also used to re-finish front blade on tactical 12 ga. "slugger" after shortening and pointing (per Benelli I must ad). Must be completely dry and scuffed(2+hrs.) before applying 2nd coat(summer sun helps). It's darker than my finish (because of lack of texture)but a VERY LIGHT 400-600 grit scuff when dry helps blend. Not as durable as original finish,so keep that applicator clean for follow up useage. Now if I can only get the 12yr old to stop dinging my AR.....
SUPER BLACK INSTANT TOUCH-UP PEN does what it is designed for
The pen's tip should be harder and pointier. After using the pen, the tip dries within a month or so and the prn becomes useless. The purpose of the pen is to fill in scratches and small dings on mostly new flat black guns and scopes. It is very good at touching up damage to screws and small scratches. This is not a substitute for rebluing a gun.
