OEM Part
OEM part. Shipped quickly by Brownells. Fixed many issues on M&P 9mm & 40 S&W pistols both Full Size & Compact. Many casual shooters tend to over lube their pistols which allows impurities to pollute the Striker Assembly. If I determine the plastic components of the Striker Assembly are polluted & the springs & firing pin are full of debris I usually change out the entire Striker Assembly and Channel Guide.
M&P 9mm Striker
Easy to find in the website, quick delivery. I use the m&p pro 9, modified but I like using the stock striker. Keep it clean and last for thousands of rounds.
Upgrade for early model generation 1
Bought a police trade in that had a first generation black striker assembly. Replaced it with this one and now my early production model is up to date.

Brownells saves the day!!!
I am a bladesmith by trade, but I also do some part-time in-house gunsmithing twice a week at a pawn shop that a friend of mine owns. The pawn shop owner took a first year M&P in on a trade a couple of weeks ago from a customer. The customer claimed the pistol was in working order. Another customer bought it a week later, but brought it back within an hour, claiming it misfired on every round, with no firing pin marks on the primers. As the pawn shop owner is a very sweet lady, she told the customer she would have it fixed for free. She then called me to come in and check it out. I pulled the striker, and it turns out the tip was broken on the first generation striker. I ordered a new striker for it from Brownells, and had it in hand in less than a week, kudos to the crew at Brownells!!! I checked the trigger pull weight and the break with both strikers. The pull weight with the new striker was almost a half pound lighter, and was very much smoother and crisper. Now then, she's happy, the customer is happy and I'm happy, as it put more money in my pocket for Christmas. Bottom line: If you have a first gen M&P pistol, you would be miles ahead by replacing the older striker, as it is prone to breaking when dry firing on an empty chamber. Not only will you increase the reliability of your firearm, but if you need it, especially for personal protection, you will also increase your safety factor exponentially. Thank you Brownells, you really saved my friend some money, and made her customer very happy. Great job!!!
Excellent firing pin assembly for M&P
Very well made and more than enough spring strength to last for many years of shooting. This assembly replaced one removed from an older M&P and the difference in spring strength is stunningly good. Installation takes about one minute. Many rounds since install and gun functions,cycles, and runs very well. Brownell's provided very quick shipping and delivery of this product. Great customer service for sure.
Replaces m&p shield striker perfectly.
I have tried many gun parts websites out there, and I could never find a direct striker assembly replacement for my m&p shield. So I have made some research and it turned out that many S&W pistols share the same identical parts. I have purchased this striker I am writing the review for, and it dropped in the slide of the Shield like its made for it.
