The Brass shank is one-piece, looped and wound, (not two, twisted together and chopped off). The coupling is no-scratch Brass. The bristles are the best, phosphor, bronze scrubbing wire for long life and thorough cleaning.

Used to be Great, Then They Cut Corners

I help coach a college pistol team, and maintain their pistols. I've been using these for over a decade to make chamber brushes for our .22 pistols. I noticed they are wearing out really fast all of a sudden. I compared the ones I have from early on, and they have more than twice the width of bristles in the spiral compared to the new ones. Instead of raising their prices a bit to maintain quality, they have cut the life by more than a factor of two. I will have to find another vendor.

CAUTION WARNING

I am a gunsmith (taught by my father and great uncle) gun collector, competitive shooter, and hunter. These brushes Should be a great product, BUT, the twisted brass core pulled out of the crimped section of the threaded connector,, Now I have a "SPECIAL LINE" BRASS CORE BORE BRUSH (made by Dewey)(sold by Brownells) STUCK 2/3 the way up the barrel of my pristine 1903 Mannlicher Schoenauer 6.5X54,, I know some say only push a brush breech to muzzle but I have pushed and pulled cleaning brushes in barrels for over 50yrs. and never harmed a barrel or had one pull apart until these, I should have known better this is the second time this has happened,, the first time was with one of the special line Nylon brushes being used on my New Rem 700 30-06, I was able to remove it fairly easy pushing from the muzzle with a patched jag wrapped tight.,,,,,, Thought it was a fluke, NOT,,,, this one is tight and tends to go off center when pushed trying to bind into the rifling.
