Amazing Trigger
I just received my M&P 2.0 Flat-Faced Forward Trigger Kit yesterday. I installed it in my M&P PC Pro Series 5" this afternoon. I watched the Apex install videos, and when I was comfortable with the video direction, it took me about 20 minutes to disassemble and install the parts. I used the flow chart on the Apex site to select the spring combination I wanted to use. I used all the factory springs because the flow chart showed the factory springs had the lowest pull weight.
It was very easy to do the installation. The only thing is the video instructions make the parts look much bigger than the actual size. I added some tweezers to the required tools, which helped install the sear and actuator. My hands are too big and broken to handle the tiny parts.
After completing the installation and making several safety and operational tests, I went out back and put about 25 rounds through the pistol, and I was quite amazed at the travel reduction and lower and more precise wall. There was virtually no creep in the trigger, and the reset is very, very short. The pull weight surprised me.
The M&P 2.0 is a great pistol, but I really hated the factory trigger. It was too small, and reset and creep were too long. It didn't help that the trigger was gritty as well. The change did improve my 40 yard accuracy was improved as well.
Slick
First installed M Carbo spring set but and polished internals....not quite light enough...about 5 lbs. I removed mcarbo springs and installed combination of parts to achieve lightes possible pull, broke like a 1911 match trigger at 2.5 lbs. I use it for target shooting. Son liked it so good he had me install on in his pistol but with a different set of springs
...broke at 3.5 lbs. The kit comes with an assortment of parts and along with stock parts seems you can achieve different pull weights.....way i set mine up with a lshort take up and a crisp 2.5 lb break with a short audible reset . Replaced factory sights with an adjustable sight set. Turned a pistol i could barely shoot into something special. Best improvement you can make on a SW2.0
The best upgrade
Out of 9 M&P 2.0s, I installed 7 Apex triggers if that tells you anything. Installing isn’t hard but you definitely need a vice and drift punch to get the rear sight off (for Apex plunger and new spring in the kit). Apex has a great chart so you can mix and match to get your desired pull. Frankly, you can leave out the slide parts from the kit, keep the factory return spring and install the lower parts for a good, crispy 4.5 lb pull. Your mileage may vary of course due to tolerances.
M&P 2.0 Flat Faced Polymer Trigger Kit
I installed this trigger on both the M&P 2.0 Pro Series full-size and 4" compact CORE 9mm pistols. The stock trigger was pretty crisp to start with and the reset was very short. With the APEX FF trigger installed, it made it way much better. With the factory springs, the trigger pull is at 4lbs, and with one of the shortest trigger resets, the trigger breaks at 90 degrees. At under $100, this is one of the best trigger kits I have purchased for the S&W M&P 2.0 pistols. The polymer trigger feels just like the aluminum version at an affordable price.
