They're bushings!
I bought VZ thin grips for a Kimber. Being a newbie to 1911's, I did not realize that a different set of slim bushings was required instead of the standard factory ones. I absolutely butchered the factory bushings by sanding them down and recutting a screw slot with a hacksaw (had to make at least 1 range trip!). This worked, and functionally my old bushings were fine and couldn't be seen...but I knew. Then I bought these. They installed perfectly, and they aren't hacksawed abominations hiding below my grips. Finish is nice, the cut slot in the bushing is finely machined and holds up to tightening.

Good Quality Product
Have installed a series of these, both in stainless and blue. Consistent quality and an easy install every time. I had one package that wasn't sealed, and a bushing was lost for a short time, but all good. At least it made it to my shop, and not on the floor of the post office...

Excellent
These are of excellent quality as are the standard issue bushings. If you intend to install thin qrips, these are a must. As for installation, use the proper bit to install the bushings. A standard screw driver bit will work but with the fine threads on the bushings a little finesse and expertise is needed. NOTE: Brownells sells the bit and it's reasonably priced. The right tool for the right job always provides for a proper and professional completed job.

Slim Bushings
I prefer slim grips on my 1911's so slim bushings are a must. I've installed several of these without any issue. I strongly suggest purchasing the special bit, there's one special for slim bushings and one for standard bushings. They fit perfectly and no risk of damage that can happen even with the best fitting screwdriver bit. Need to order more. Man can't have enough 1911's.

Get them!
Just installed these on my new Springfield Loaded 1911 45 full size due to buying VZ Grips, Slim, in Alien Grey/Black. They not only fit perfect, but had no quality issues and all tools came with it for installing. Buy here instead of from VZ website and save a bunch. g-
