Top shelf parts
Went together perfectly. All parts have a really nice finish with no sharp or rough edges. Very pleased.
Not compatible with Gen 5 frame
Its my fault for not being more careful or noticing the shape of the slide plate before ordering, but Buyer Beware, these internals only work with gen 3 and gen 4 slides/frames and will not operate with gen 5 or glock 19x etc. otherwise fast shipping even amid covid 19 and very efficient. Thanks
Missing Part and Striker Not Fluted
I had to wait several weeks to receive this kit on backorder, no fault of Brownells, of course. I was more than willing to wait since it seemed to offer some added benefits over stock and other kits, such as some of the critical parts being machined from stainless steel and not MIM (the striker, safety plunger, and extractor depressor plunger). After finally receiving it, safety plunger was missing. Funny thing is that the kit comes with a "Quality Certificate" that's supposed to be signed by someone during an inspection, but it wasn't. Also, the striker is not fluted as shown in the pictures and description for the precision striker. I imagine it was a cost cutting measure, but it only profits the company and doesn't save the customer any money. I sent an email via the Contact Us section of Rival Arms' site only to be told to call them. I then called them and spoke with a service rep that was polite and very willing to help, but it was obvious that Rival Arms did little to prepare her for helping out customers. Seems that Rival Arms may have been a recent acquisition by GSM Outdoors, and that may explain why the rep had trouble trying to help me out. In the end, she was finally able to talk to someone that told her I would be sent the missing plunger. We'll see if it shows up. If not, I'll cut my losses and buy another. Also, there was no mention of why the firing pin is no longer fluted, but I spent such a long time on the phone that I wasn't going to bother pushing that issue. The rest of the parts seem decent, but I personally would not purchase this kit again. I would recommend looking at stock Glock kits or other reputable companies before ever considering Rival Arms. Sadly, they may have fallen victim to poorer quality control and customer service of a bigger, poorly managed corporation.
Damaged package
The package was damaged and partly opened which resulted in a missing plunger spring. All other parts were accounted for and I was able to assemble everything but with the damaged package and missing spring, Im concerned other parts may not function properly. As for the parts, they seem to be of high quality.
Light Strikes
Striker was not fluted which is why I purchased this kit for much more money than other kits. Worse than being deceived about the striker are the occasional light strikes/fail to fire I get with this kit. This kit was purchased to complete a Brownells long slide for a Glock 19. Back to buying Glock parts only, despite the wait.
