High quality, replacement firing pin uses the original, pre-’51 Russian design to eliminate the potential for accidental slam-fires and uncontrollable full-auto operation associated with the current production, free-floating type firing pin. Gradual, straight taper design with Wolff brand spring prevents mechanical lockup in the bolt and ensures consistent firing pin return after every shot; plus, allows the use of soft-primered American ammunition and reloads. Fits Chinese, Yugoslavian, Albanian, Romanian, and post 1950 Russian SKS rifles. Not for use in pre-1951 Russian models with shallower firing pin hole. Includes spare firing pin spring and instructions.

SPECS: 17-4 stainless steel, natural finish. Approx. 3¾” long. Fits post 1950 Russian SKS and clones.

I bought two of them one for my yugo sks and the other one for my norinco sks and both workked fantastic. No m9re slamfires!

Excellent Fit & within Specs

Installed the Murrays firing pin and spring in a Chinese Norinco SKS rifle. It functioned well using Wolf ammo with no primer piercing, slam fires, or double fires. The firing-pin diameter, protrusion and face shape were within specifications for 7.62x39 mm cartridges with large rifle primers. No fitting was required.

A must have

You really need this for an sks. It makes it way more reliable. Prevents misfires, slam fires, weak primer strikes. I have never owned an sks without this.

Great product dropped right in. My original firing pin had bent and was causing issues. Replacing it with this fixed all issues and gives the added assurance of the spring return. Highly recommended.

This is a winner -- when needed

My Chinese SKS would double on me almost every magazine making for unsafe use. This occurred even though the bolt, firing pin, and firing pin channel were clean and even though the firing pin moved freely in the bolt when shaken, as its supposed to. I replaced the stock firing pin in my Chinese SKS with the Murray firing pin and spring and fired 100 rounds without a single hiccup, for the first time. Highly recommended when your SKS just wont behave.

Murrays response: Prior to 1-29-2014 some bad batches of 420 SS created brittleness after heat treat, some have broken, but anyone that purchased prior to that date qualifies for free replacement. Contact Murrays for details. Since that date, we have shipped over 5K of the new 17-4 SS FPs and not one has been reported broken. "Popped Primers" can affect our FP the same as an "original" FP, but we have the new "Neck & Throat" service that is a 100% cure for that as well. Again, contact Murrays for details. No More Slam Fire

Made an unsafe sks useable. After repeated cleaning and servicing, rifle would still occasionly slam fire. Installed this enhanced firing pin and solved the problem. I could not be happier

Agreed, absolute superiority

My friends yugo failed to fire multiple times at the range. So, he sold it to me as junk. I havent tested it too mutch yet, but it is a drasticly better design. when you see it you will know it will solve the problem, forever.
