SINCLAIR TWO PIECE CLEANING ROD GUIDE BODIES Reviews & Ratings

The Sinclair Two-Piece bore guide system helps the shooter get the best possible alignment of the cleaning rod to the bore by using a guide within a guide. The guide body goes into the action and seals the chamber with an O-ring, like a traditional bore guide. A separate guide slides into the rear of the guide body to provide a slip fit for the cleaning rod. The tight-fitting 8" insert prevents the rod from flexing and keeps it centered, so it will not contact the rifling while you clean. Choose the guide body to fit the cartridge your rifle is chambered for, then select the insert with the inside diameter that fits your rod. Both guide body and insert are machined from Delrin with rubber O-ring seals to prevent solvent from getting into the action. Bore guide bodies are made to fit the Remington 700 and other rifles with .700" diameter bolts.

I have used the Sinclair bore guide when cleaning my Rem 700 for over a year and am very happy with it. I have to remove my cheek riser before inserting the bore guide. But that's not a problem with the bore guide. I would recommend this bore guide.

Works great in GA Precision Templar LA

I confirmed that the 749-013-417 body and 749-013-422 guide insert was the perfect combo for my GA Precision Templar LA in .300 Win Mag. I've had this product for almost 3 years now and haven't had any big issues with it. Can't beat the value.

Works Okay But Could Be Better

It's been some time since I purchased a Sinclair bore guide. They used to fit much tighter in the action. This new one fits quite loose but it still gets the job done.

It works but...

Brownells makes some stuff, but I don't think the two piece rod guide is one of them. It is not very user friendly, and makes cleaning more difficult than it should be. The two piece rod guide is also VERY long. I have a 36" rod, and it is not long enough to clean my rifle with a 26" barrel using this rod guide as is. I had to trim .5" off the end so that the patch would clear the end of the barrel. Brushes won't fully exit the barrel. I prefer the Possum Hollow guide over these.

Poor Concentricity!

Over the years I've been pretty happy with Sinclair products... But this one should have never made it out their shop.. .041 out of concentricity! Going into the throat. Q.C. should have caught this. I"ll going to order another,to try out. But this one going back for a refund.

Poor Design & Quality

Insert is too long making it hard to use the port to apply solvent to patches, fit is very tight, not worth buying

Good design, poor production. I bought the small body and inserts for 22 and 20 calibers. The 20 caliber would only fit about one inch into the body, the 22 insert about two inches. I had to have a machine shop turn the 20 caliber insert so I could clean a rifle. Had another rod guide for 22 so I just threw that one away.
