SINCLAIR REDDING DIE LOCK RING PLIERS

SINCLAIR REDDING DIE LOCK RING PLIERS Reviews & Ratings

These machined aluminum split pliers are designed to loosen Redding dies when screwed into the press. These pliers fit the die body lock ring, which frequently is in a jammed fit with the die and the top of the reloading press. The smaller hole fits the smaller knurled lock nut on top of the reloading die that locks down the decapping assembly. The contoured fit of these pliers prevents the damage we routinely see on lock rings from handloaders using adjustable pliers.

Just not right
These pliers just don't grip (at all) most of the lock rings on the die body. Top (small) lock rings must be more consistent. Pretty disappointing, I expected much better. I see I'm not the only one with this complaint. If they worked, they'd get five stars.

Dont waste your money!
These look to solve the problem of easy removal and tightening of Redding dies, especially in a turret style press. Truth is, they dont. The rubber grip caps prevent the plier from grabbing the dies in most instances and they are too fat to grab the rings on a fully loaded turret. Ive had to remove the rubber comfort grips which makes them uncomfortable to use. Great concept, poor execution. To improve, they should use better material, like steel allowing them to be thinner, but grab harder. They also need to reduce the inside diameter so they dont require as much force to grab a tight ring.

Dont waste your money!
I bought a pair of these despite the negative reviews. The pair I got are completely useless. Won't work on either lock ring. I own only Redding Dies, useless on all of them!
