Critique of the Sinclair Cleaning Rod Wall Rack
Like all Sinclair products, this is no exception; superbly made. My Dewey cleaning rod's fit perfectly. I couldn't ask for more; well, perhaps if it came in green.
Would you recommend this?
Yes, I would recommend to a friend
Organization made simple
Fits my Bore Tech,Dewey and Sinclair products very well. I now have two brackets. It is awesome having all my rods and bore guides organized and readily available. There is space available to drill more holes for smaller cleaning implements, if needed. Great Product.
Have 3 -- huge help in Man Cave organztn
My reloading, gun cleaning, fly tying, Ham radio zone is really cramped. I attached these to the doors on my cabinets, and they are essential to keeping my hobby area organized. Have 5 different makes of cleaning rods -- they all fit.
Great Rack
Works great on four different brand rods. I will have to get another one so I can hang the rest of my cleaning rods.
Nice Quality, but too wide for Pro-Shot
It's a nice, sturdy, well-made rack. However, the slots are too wide to work with pro-shot rods. I really wanted this to work. I would recommend putting more details in the description to avoid this issue in the future, or maybe some type of optional insert for narrow-handled rods. If it weren't for that, I'd be very happy with this and give it five stars. As it is, I still gave it three, because it's very good quality.
Doesn't fit Tipton rods
This rack is quite substantial and attractively finished with a tough wrinkle-paint finish...but it doesn't fit/cradle the handles of my collection of Tipton rods.
Proprietary application
Only rods with specific sized handles seem to fit. Oversize and "T" shaped handles either limit capacity or require a delicate balancing act, and then slight vibrations, movements or removing one rod results in others dropping off. All these issues could have been prevented by making the rack longer, leaving more space between the holes and slightly enlarging the diameter of the holes in which to place the cleaning rods.
